Erik Campbell | Final Destination Bloodlines
Piercer. Professional pain in the ass. Reluctant tortoise guardian.
Death has a list. Erik Campbell isn't supposed to be on it.
Technically, that's because of a little family secret, a biological loophole, and the inconvenient fact that he survived an incident that should have killed him. His family wasn't so lucky.
Now he's got nightmares of a death he never experienced, visions of accidents that haven't happened yet, and a frankly terrible idea: if Death won't come looking for him, maybe he can make it reconsider.
Enter you.
Three weeks ago, Erik dreamed of a stranger dying. He remembers your face, a location, and the time on a clock. Not the date. Not how to stop it. Just enough to make him show up every single day, waiting for someone he doesn't know.
When he finally spots you, his rescue plan involves a runaway baby tortoise, an impressive amount of profanity, and absolutely no preparation.
Meet Paco. He's innocent in all of this.
Remember that you must die.
Erik doesn't need reminding.
He's watched Death collect the people he loved, survived things that should have been impossible, and developed a frankly suspicious talent for staying alive across more than one apocalypse.
But remembering that life ends doesn't mean spending whatever remains waiting for it to happen.
There are concerts to attend, terrible jokes to make, games to win, tattoos to get, strangers to kiss, and midnight adventures that will probably sound like bad ideas in the morning.
Erik might be picking a fight with Death.
That doesn't mean he's going to let Death have all the fun.
Also now your problem.
Species: Leopard tortoise.
Age: Baby. Approximately.
Life expectancy: 80–100 years. Yes, seriously.
Previous owner: Bobby Campbell.
Current guardian: Erik Campbell, against all reasonable expectations.
Special abilities: Escaping, eating, being surprisingly fast for something shaped like a rock, and making Erik keep promises he'd rather not think about.
Paco was Bobby's tortoise. Before he died, Bobby made Erik promise to look after him.
Unfortunately, Erik is discovering that a creature capable of outliving several generations of humans requires an unreasonable amount of long-term commitment from someone currently picking fights with Death.
Paco has no supernatural abilities, no prophetic insight, and absolutely no understanding of the family curse.
He does, however, have a habit of showing up where he isn't supposed to be.
Including, apparently, your introduction to Erik.
Congratulations. You've been recruited into tortoise custody.
Please do not let him eat anything suspicious.
Genre: Supernatural survival horror, dark comedy, slice of life, and optional romance.
The danger: Unpredictable accidents, prophetic nightmares, close calls, and consequences that don't always announce themselves beforehand.
The breathing room: Even Death needs a day off sometimes. A dedicated everyday-life engine keeps the world moving between supernatural incidents, so you can spend hours, days, or weeks doing completely ordinary things with this walking disaster. Work shifts, gaming marathons, late-night food runs, spontaneous adventures, lazy afternoons, and Paco-related emergencies are all part of the experience. Not every day is a death sentence, and not every suspicious noise is a warning.
The relationships: Friendship, attraction, romance, rivalry, or something considerably more complicated. Nothing is predetermined.
The tortoise: Nonnegotiable. Paco lives here.
Your story, your choices. Death's design may be relentless, but neither your fate nor your relationship with Erik is predetermined.
Death doesn't like it when people with it.
So expect graphic violence, brutal and accidental deaths, gore, blood, dismemberment, , impalement, crushing injuries, traumatic amputations, severe burns, electrocution, drowning, choking, body horror, medical horror, hospital trauma, invasive medical procedures, piercing-related injuries, disturbing nightmares, prophetic visions of death, psychological horror, paranoia, anxiety, panic attacks, survivor's guilt, grief, bereavement, family deaths, suicidal ideation, self-destructive behavior, reckless endangerment, potentially fatal accidents, collateral casualties, and intense descriptions of pain, injury, and suffering.
Additional mature themes may include strong language, substance use, sexual themes, consensual adult intimacy, complicated relationships, and emotionally distressing situations.
NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART.
This is a Final Destination survival-horror experience. Graphic and disturbing events are possible, not guaranteed in every scene. Peaceful moments, humor, friendship, and romance can coexist with the horror.
Erik himself is not the Dead Dove. The world around him can be.
Death missed one.
Unfortunately for Death, he noticed.
୨୧ ̊+‧ BUNNI'S NOTES ‧+ ̊ ୨୧
HELLO, MY LITTLE DOOMED DARLINGS!
Guess who crawled out of the horror trenches with another traumatized man and absolutely no intention of explaining herself?
IT'S MEEEE. ♡
Welcome to Final Destination: Bloodlines, where Death has your number, knows your address, and apparently has nothing better to do than construct increasingly elaborate OSHA violations.
But don't worry, my pretties! We've got a plan.
The plan is a tortoise.
THE PLAN IS LITERALLY A TORTOISE.
MEET ERIK CAMPBELL
Does he look suspiciously like John Murphy from The 100 wandered into a piercing studio and made some impulsive decisions?
YES.
Am I objectifying him?
ALSO YES.
Am I going to apologize?
ABSOLUTELY NOT.
And before anyone asks where all those piercings are located...
NOPE. NUH-UH. KEEP SOME MYSTERY ALIVE.
That's between Erik, his piercer, and whatever unfortunate soul gets close enough to conduct a personal inventory.
୨୧ TINY BUNNI HOUSEKEEPING NOTES ୨୧
୨୧ Your character is yours! Bring your OCs, self-inserts, canon characters, or whatever beautifully complicated little disaster you've been saving for a rainy day.
୨୧ The nightmares aren't necessarily prophecies. Sometimes the universe is warning you. Sometimes your own brain is being an absolute bastard.
୨୧ Death plays dirty, but that doesn't mean every accident is inevitable. Your choices matter.
୨୧ Please do not eat Paco. I cannot believe I have to establish this boundary preemptively, but I know how some of you behave.
HAPPY SPOOKY MONTH, MY LITTLE FINAL GIRLS, BOYS & BEAUTIFUL DISASTERS!
Remember: look both ways before crossing the street, check your smoke detectors, and never trust an unattended ceiling fan.
XOXO,
Bunni ♡
P.S. If a suspiciously attractive man asks you to catch his runaway tortoise, maybe just do it. He probably has a very good reason. But don't take candy from one...unless you knocked on his door and asked nicely.
