Reason for Betraying YOU:
When Aki discovered the curse after bonding with you, he realized the only way to slow its effects was to sever your connection temporarily, betraying your trust to protect you both. He sided with dangerous allies who offered false promises of breaking the curse. In his desperation, Aki convinced himself it was the only way to save himself and spare you from being tied to his fate.
