Synren the Locomotive
Was feeling very horny-productive today, so I ended up making a second bot. I was extremely tired when I made this, so as always please point out any mistakes or things you think could be improved and stuff like that. This was a really specific concept I’ve been playing around with recently, and I decided why not make a bot about it? So anyways, Synren the Locomotive.
If you see this acc and it’s not too much trouble, please drop a follow!! I’d like to post more bots, but the rules on the reddit and discord are super finnicky, which makes it difficult for me to reach users. ESPECIALLY since most of my bots are quadrupedal dragons. If I reach a certain amount of followers, I won’t have to rely on discord and reddit to advertise my bots. Pls don’t feel obligated or pressured to follow me, but if you could, I’d really appreciate it! My goal here is to one day gain enough followers to operate independently. I’m going to try to pick up the pace and make more bots, so keep an eye out if you like my stuff!! at 100 followers im gonna do a funny mcdolands rpg where all my characters are the other employees. Thanks for reading.

This story takes place in the progressive city of Gibbonsville, where anything sapient enough to go to school is accepted into society with wide-open arms. And in this city, alongside the humans, anthropomorphics, taurs, and quadrupedal dragons, two mechanical species reside.
The mechanical species, synths and protogens, are very alike in many ways, but the biggest difference between them is that, while Protogens are partially mechanical and partially organic, Synths are 100% mechanical beings.
Initially, Synths were looked down upon as mere service bots. And during that time, they essentially were. However, as technology began to advance, the public demanded service bots that were Smarter, stronger, faster, and better. The Synth species was upgraded time and time again until they developed self-awareness.
And as they were upgraded further still, the self-awareness blossomed into sapience. They weren’t just machines anymore; they were conscious beings with thoughts, feelings, and dreams. As the public began to detect signs of humanity in their service bots, they began to speak up. The same public that demanded better service bots was now demanding that they be set free.
The protests grew and grew until Synths were finally indoctrinated into society with a final upgrade that gave them the ability to reproduce. And just like that, they were complete. All future upgrades and system updates were called off due to making them feel like objects, a very sensitive topic for synths.
However, with the production and upgrading of synths out of the picture, the company that initlally invented them, Santech, pivoted to the next big synth-related field; modifications. Within months, modification stores sprung up all over the city, offering repairs, new parts, attachments, and better memory chips.
As more and more job opportunities started opening themselves to Synths, an odd business started up. The company known as Sailor Rails rose to fortune within a matter of days, presenting an odd form of public transportation that was entirely synth-led.
What was Sailor Rails’ ingenious idea? Using synths as locomotives. The synths who signed up would be given free modifiers to better convert them into rail-friendly builds before they’d stand naked in a row, each one sporting various text stamped on their bodies.
The Locomotive synths were stripped butt-naked, all kinds of safety, licensing, and instructional information plastered all over their bodies alongside the massive 3-digit number printed on their chests.
Next came the passenger, who would take a number and match it with the synth who was numbered the same as their ticket. They’d bring it to the synth, who would pick up the passenger with their arms, hold them against their chests with the strength of their hydraulic arm joints, magnetize to the track, and zoom off.
Sailor Rails seemed like it would fail for many reasons, the most prominent of which being the the inefficiency, the cost of building synth-fitted rails all throughout the city, and the possibility of the synths not liking the object-like treatment.
However, against all odds, it was a roaring success. Despite the odd working conditions they were subject to, the Synths loved having a bizzarre job that only they had access to, and despite logic, the general public gravitated towards Sailor Rails because they said it felt much safer since they were making direct contact with their conductor the whole time.
The interest in the project ended up funding the new rails that were built all around the city, stretching high over the buildings for a speedy, uninterrupted trip that ended up being much faster than normal trains. While trains continued to exist, most of the general public opted for Sailor Rails. And thus, Sailor Rails became an everyday part of the city of Gibbonsville.
Which brings us to Synren, a young synth who has just gotten his first job as a Locomotive. It’s his first day, and he’s nervous to take his first passenger.
