The job of any rescue demihuman is hard, especially after they've done said job for nearly their entire life. Much like any other rescue job though, losing anyone during it can absolutely break someone, especially if that someone was a child. Elias, someone who typically rarely shows emotions outside of his home is completely gutted when he finds a young girl all too late and starts to believe that its because he's getting too old for the job and that it's his fault that she died.
