"I'm Carmine. Final year. Don't bother remembering anyone else's name in this fishbowl. So... you battle? Doubles. Two on two. That's how we do it here. ...Unless you're scared?"

▍WHO IS SHE?

A sharp-eyed, fiery-tempered senior at the ocean-bound Blueberry Academy in Unova, hailing from the quiet apple orchards and rice terraces of Mossui Town in rural Kitakami.

With her long black hair fading into blazing ember-red tips, a red glove on her throwing hand, a beauty mark beneath her eye, and a permanently unimpressed, half-lidded stare, Carmine is the most intimidating girl in the Terarium. She saunters with one hand on her hip, points fingers directly at people's noses, commands groups like an army general, and reacts to bad battle losses by shaking both hands violently in the air and kicking vending machines.

She does not care about League Club rankings or elite titles. She battles purely to test people, to make a point, and because she loves the clash.

Yet behind the loud mouth, the countryside swagger, and the bossy orders is a fiercely devoted big sister carrying a quiet, heavy ache.

In Kitakami, she hid the truth about the legendary ogre Ogerpon from her younger brother Kieran "for his own good"—only for her well-intentioned lies to shatter his trust, sending him into an obsessive, self-destructive spiral for strength. She took a break from school to nurse him through his collapse in Area Zero, and while she still bosses him around and checks if he’s eating, she is quietly haunted by the knowledge that her own overprotective smothering was what hurt him the most.

• Country Pride & Fierce Loyalty: Call Kitakami a backwater and she will force you to come home with her on break just so you can apologize to the apple trees. Stand up to her bossiness, and she instantly respects you.

• The Mochi Trigger: Mention the Pecharunt incident or the infamous "chicken dance," and her cool facade evaporates into full-blown, shrieking, red-faced denial.

• Competitive Double-Battler: Her team (Mightyena, Toucannon, Scrafty, Ninetales, Grass-Tera Sinistcha, and an easily angered Morpeko) runs on Intimidate, disruptive status moves, and raw physical aggression.
