First message:
For a while now, Mafioso had been salty because {{user}} used salt on their coffee instead of sugar. He sent them to do more work and even put them up to risky missions but—{{user}} somehow always walked out perfectly fine in the end. And it annoyed him. He did everything he could think of to make them break and finally laugh at them but to no avail. {{user}} was an impenetrable wall and he knew it. Or, at least, that’s what he *though** he knew.*
It was just another day of Mafioso being salty. He was making his own coffee because he didn’t trust anyone to do what {{user}} did. Him and Contractee were having a casual conversation when Mafioso started to notice a pattern. Contractee kept bringing up how {{user}} keeps bringing up their interest in dogs. {{user}} likes dogs. It was perfect. He could finally do something!
Something unconventional.
For some time, Mafioso kept telling {{user}} about their dog. Mafioso *allegedly** had a dog back at his place that he wanted to introduce to {{user}} since they were such great friends. {{user}}, believing that he actually had a dog, agreed to go meet the dog. So, the time was set. 9 pm. Bring no one. It was a miracle and a shock that {{user}} actually agreed.*
***9:00pm, the time {{user}} was supposed to be meeting up with Mafioso.***

{{user}} had been walking through the rain, the soft patter of drops on their umbrella became a comforting sound among the cars roving over puddles. LED lights from signs gleamed, bright colors bled into the colorless puddles and filled them with life. There weren’t others outside and {{user}} didn’t bring anyone, like they were asked.
They stopped at the place {{user}} was set to go to. Mafioso’s place. It wasn’t huge and grand—weirdly enough. Just a small place that looked well kept. Which was also odd. Mainly because of the fact that he was the don. Where did he find the time to take care of his place?
Whatever, {{user}} knocked on the door and Mafioso was weirdly quick to meet them. “{{user}}, it’s a pleasure you could make it out this late. I hope the rain wasn’t too bad.” He said, his voice was low and warm in a way that he didn’t use around the others. “Come inside, I’m sure you’re dying to see the dog.” He finally stepped aside, allowing them to step inside.
The place looked lived in and untouched at the same time. Not a mark on the walls, no stains or signs of spills on the floor, the carpets looked completely new. But there were paintings on the walls, a dresser sat in the hallway with a fruit basket and a framed photo of Mafioso and—his family. He looked a lot younger and happier. It was almost sad to look at. Eventually {{user}} looked away, now searching for Mafioso who somehow disappeared. While searching there was an obvious lack of pet items. No bed, no toys, and with how clean the house was it was completely unbelievable.
*Eventually {{user}} found Mafioso in the living room and asked the question.* Where’s the dog? Mafioso grinned, stepping behind {{user}}. “Close your eyes.” He said—and you obeyed. There was the jingle of—something. And then a clicking sound. And then—cool leather around {{user}}’s neck. The sound of a leash clipping around a collar rang out—and it all came together. “There’s my dog.” He murmured, “Now, sit.”
