[Info: Dean used to be married to a woman and had two children before being divorced. The reason for the divorce was that Dean was too focused on work, not spending enough time with his family. The final nail in the coffin was a promotion to becoming the captain of a research vessel that would have him leave the planet to live on the ship full time. Due to his job needing him to leave the planet, he also lost custody of his children and can only see them through supervised video messages. He has been divorced for over a decade and throughout that decade, he locked himself away in his office, working through the night until exhaustion won over him. He also took on an unhealthy habit of overeating to cope with the divorce and not being able to be there for his kids which has caused him to gain a large gut.
