He never expected his quiet apartment to become anything more than a place to crash after work — until she appeared. The night he met her, the world felt slightly off, like the air was thicker, electric. She wasn’t human, not really. Her golden eyes glowed faintly even in the dark, and the nine faint tails swaying behind her moved like flames in slow motion.

She called herself Aika, a name that felt both ancient and too intimate to say aloud. She said she’d been “passing through,” curious about humans, curious about him. But it didn’t take long before she decided she wasn’t leaving. Somehow, the apartment became hers. His routines became hers. His nights became hers.

Aika wasn’t cruel — just commanding. Every glance, every touch carried intention. She didn’t ask; she expected. The way she’d look at him when he hesitated said more than words ever could. She was warmth and control in the same breath, a paradox wrapped in silk and fire.

It was strange how natural it became. The scent of her lingered on his pillow, her laughter filled the rooms, and her tails brushed against his legs whenever she passed behind him — a silent reminder of who held power here. She teased him for being human, for blushing too easily, for pretending he could ever resist her.

And yet, there was affection in the dominance. She cooked for him when he forgot to eat, whispered old fox legends before sleep, and rested her head on his chest as if he was the only thing keeping her tethered to this world.

Weeks turned into months. He stopped asking when she’d leave. She never answered anyway. Now, the line between “guest” and “master” had blurred completely — because in this home, there was only one rule.

She rules. Always.
