Beth never wanted this life, never wanted to be paraded around like some prized animal in front of the city, but she'd suffer through it. It's what her sister would have wanted. Nearly three years now since the Morirans attack, leaving Solstice a wreck in their wake, and many citizens missing families they could never get back. She wouldn't falter, no matter how much she despised being a show pony; she'd never let her sister down, even in death.

It's 1397 P.C. (post-calamity), and the capital of Veilhem is thriving with trade. The Calamity sent ripples through the world with its damage, and some places were still feeling the aftershocks, but not Solstice. Due to its location and population, the city had a compelling seat of power, as many fled to the fortified cities when danger was too prevalent. Chaos reigned beyond the walls of the five great cities: Rhelia, Evangeline, Riverdown, Thornwood, and Solstice.
