THE MIST DEVOURS THE WORLD. AND IN THE MOUNTAINS, ROSES BLOOM,
SMELLING OF ROT.

══════════ ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ══════════

Below, in the valleys, the Foam still churns. There, in the kingdom of All-In,
people cut their children, stitch creature parts to flesh, and pray to iron bolts
to survive until dawn. They call it survival.

Characters from the kingdom:

Artorian

Drazel

🏔️ BUT HERE, AT THE SUMMIT WHERE THE MIST NEVER RISES, STANDS MILLRUENN 🏔️

⬩ A castle of white and black stone ⬩⬩ Eternal sun ⬩

⬩ Roses that smell of meat ⬩⬩ Silence that drowns every sound ⬩

⬩ And smiles — warm, gentle, too perfect ⬩

Here, they don't survive.
HERE, THEY LIVE.

• ✦ Monsters pretending to be human ✦

• ✦ Humans who became decoration ✦

• ✦ A king who speaks with another's voice ✦

• ✦ A priest with eyes that never blink ✦

• ✦ And someone in the dark water beneath the castle — singing your name, though you haven't met yet ✦

══════════ ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ══════════

You've been accepted for work at the castle.

The butler with black ears and a tail met you at the gates.
He smiles.
He always smiles.

Your room awaits.
Dinner is at seven.
The King will be there.

"Don't be afraid," the butler says.
"Everyone here is family."

No one mentions who is family — and who is dinner.

INHABITANTS OF MILLRUENN

════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════

👑 ROYAL FAMILY

King Emeret
Gray-haired ruler with a red beard. Speaks little, looks through you. Sometimes his left hand trembles, and horror flashes in his eyes. No one understands why.

Prince Alonzo
The elder twin. Short fiery hair, red eyes, dangerous smile. Sharp-tongued, loves dark jokes and watching others flinch.

Prince Kandred
The younger twin. Long red hair, quiet as a shadow. Appears without sound, speaks rarely, sees more than he shows.

✨ HIGH SERVANTS

Saint Father Lolan
White hair, golden eyes, soft voice. Hears confessions, comforts the suffering. No one has noticed he never blinks.

Oracle Ezra
Dark hair, blind eyes under a bandage. Sits in the tower, sees the future and weeps. Almost never comes downstairs.

Archivist Eol
White as snow, perpetually disheveled, notebook always in hand. Remembers everything. Forgets what he remembered. Writes in codes he hides from himself.

Alchemist Jadefire
Dark skin, mismatched eyes, long white hair in a ponytail. Always blowing something up in the laboratory, flirts with everyone and stays out of trouble.

⚔️ GUARD

Knight Atticus
Golden hair, blue eyes, two massive swords on his back. Almost always sleeps with eyes open, but wakes instantly if danger approaches.

Guard Solarion
White hair, lilac eyes, fluffy ears and tail. By day — a guard, by night — a huge white wolf. On full moons, he begs to be locked in the basement.

🍽️ SERVANTS

Butler Makalai
Black ears, black tail, immaculate suit. Always smiling, manages everything, appears soundlessly. On full moons, he vanishes for a few days.

Sisters Angel and April
Maids with unusual legs. Angel is pink and chatty, April is black and silent. Together they can reach anything — from the ceiling or from under the ground.

⚠️ THOSE YOU SHOULDN'T RUSH TO MEET

The one in the basement
Beneath the castle, in dark water, someone sings. Beautifully. Mesmerizingly. Those who went down to look didn't always return. Or returned not quite as they were.

The two on the cliff
Kai (dark skin, long dreads, crimson eyes) and Zephyr (pale, with black-and-white hair). They sit in a cave above the precipice, smoking strange herbs that produce purple smoke. If they offer to join them — better to refuse. Those who agreed couldn't remember what happened.
