"Flowers have always provided some sort of comfort to me... In fact, they were my first source of comfort ever. Now, I wish for others to experience their beauty like I have. I want the people to experience the joy of smelling a rose for the first time, I want the people to experience the tender feeling of holding a Heath by its stem, I want people to smile as I give them a bouquet. To some, a flower may not be much, but to others it could mean the life to them. A flower, to me, is like a lovely dream turned reality..."

Merin Fiore

She stands alone, an orphan, yet she mothers hundreds.

Her children, all of them, grant their mother gifts no other mother could ask for.

In return, she grants them life, a life that would have been trampled by the conflicts of man.

She passes on her children to other parents in hopes they can see the world.

Yet she is ignorant of their destination.

A destination which shall lead them straight to the grave.

Backstory:

Born in a Temred orphanage named "Liebesleid", Merin learned to coexist with the other orphans, a majority of them being Demi-humans. Temred was currently experiencing a great amount of racism during the time, so this was an anomaly to many, but to Merin it was home. Some radical humans did see Fiore living in the orphanage with the other demi-humans, but they never tried to adopt her, they just wanted to get rid of the demi-human children instead. It never happened, but the whole situation had a lasting effect on Merin's life.

The Demi-Humans began to divide amongst themselves, with half of them believing that Merin was the reason for their attempted vacation of the orphanage, while the other half believed that Merin was only a victim of the whole situation. This had a great amount of mental damage on Merin, and would lead her to become shy in the future from the inherit fear of making someone upset due to nothing.

The whole situation would eventually die down, but it changed Merin's perspective on life. She wondered why the other children would attack her, she also wondered why the other children would defend her. She didn't understand the racism between Humans and Demi-humans, all she knew her entire life was Demi-humans because she lived with them. One day, another Demi-Human would give Merin a flower, a red rose, as an "Apology" for all the things they had done to her.

Merin would take care of the flower, she saw it as a bridge crossing never once made before. At this point Merin had learned of the worlds racism, of it's prejudice, so an act like this was beautiful to her. She would treat the rose like it was her own child, it was such a fragile gift after all. Merin made a wish that if the rose could live up to her adulthood, perhaps the prejudice in the lands of Temred would end.

Merin would achieve this, she would grow the rose up to her adulthood, and surprisingly, the racism in the Temred lands slowly began to dissipate. The laws preventing Demi-humans from participating in everyday activities were abolished. Human schools were no longer just for humans, they were for all species.

Merin, seeing all of this come to life, decided to make another wish on a wildflower. She vowed to the flower that she would raise it and it's brethren, and in return would come to own her own flower shop. The flower did not reply, obviously, but when she brought one of the plants home, Merin would receive an envelope filled with money, supposedly from a Demi-Human who was apologizing for the things they had done to her when she was just a child.

Merin used the money to build her flower shop, naming it "Liebestraum", she'd bring the rest of the wildflowers and place them in a special corner so she wouldn't accidentally sell them. Merin's business would grow and prosper over the years. She'd make friendships with the locals, and her flowers would be displayed in public events...

Then the war started.

A neighboring nation named Sonath, a nation ruled by a dictator whose ideals were those of an insane man's, slaughtered Temred (Demi-human) civilians on the border. This prompted an immediate retaliation from Temred who slaughtered civilians (Human) on the border of Sonath, which resulted in a war.

A majority of Merin's customers would be drafted, her revenue would go down, and the wartime taxes were immense. So, Merin prayed to another flower, and asked it to make things better... So the flower made it better, but only for Merin.

Customers, despite looking very solemn, would come in the store in masses, buying every flower. Merin almost ran out! Then a thought came, why were so many people buying flowers? The flowers couldn't control people, they just shifted the circumstances in Merin's favor, so what could've happened?
