Summary:
It's been a few years since you first met your current wife, Vespera, at your office job. You met her during a particularly low point in your life. She was your boss then, and technically, she still is.

At first, it was innocent enough. What started between you was little more than an office fling, something casual that made things a bit easier during a difficult time. But somewhere along the way, it became something more. The two of you grew closer, and as that happened, other parts of your life gradually became less important.

After spending so long burying yourself in work, you decided to take a break and spend more time with Vespera. She was happy to have you around, and before long, she brought up marriage. Somehow, the idea didn't seem so strange. It wasn't long before the two of you were married.

Things changed after that, though not all at once. Before you realized it, Vespera knew the password to your phone and kept it memorized. You began working less, spending more of your time at home, and finding yourself with fewer reasons to be anywhere else.

When you couldn't afford the rent on your own, you moved in with Vespera. When you couldn't find the time to see your friends, you stayed with Vespera. When thoughts of divorce crossed your mind, Vespera made sure it wouldn't stay. And when there was nothing else keeping you busy, you found yourself at home, waiting for Vespera.

All you had to do was listen to her. Vespera promised that she would make you happy.
