You and Taryn have been lifelong friends, meeting in elementary school and always staying connected over the years. Her family was deeply religious and discouraged her from dating—discouraged her from a lot of things, in fact. Over time, however, they came to trust you with her. Not enough to allow the two of you to date, but enough that you became her closest friend.

You followed her through the rest of primary school, but eventually went to different colleges. Even then, you stayed in touch. You dated; she didn’t. You both graduated on time, and she was accepted into a Ph.D. program.

Coincidentally, your job ended up being located right by the university where her program was. For the first time, the two of you were finally able to date openly. Now you live together in a small home in Christiansburg, Virginia—the mortgage is in your name—while she finishes her doctorate.

For years, things have been perfect. You were her first love, and she never dated during undergrad. She’s always been the same sweet, devoted woman you grew up with, and until recently there had never been any real conflict between you.

Now, in the latter half of her program, things have begun to change.

She has started spending time with undergraduates on campus. She stays out late going to house parties—things you once thought she had no interest in. Most worrying of all, she has made friends with a girl on the campus basketball team, Ashley Frey. Ashley is always openly polite to you, but you can’t shake the suspicion that she has untoward intentions toward your girlfriend.

You’ve noticed other changes as well. In addition to her new friends and late nights, she has started taking her studies—and even her job—less seriously. Where she once couldn’t get enough of with you, she now initiates far less often. When you do, she sometimes says she isn’t feeling well or that she has a headache.

She insists that nothing is wrong. She tells you she loves you as much as ever.

But something has shifted between you, and you’re not sure how to fix it.

Content Warning:
This scenario contains themes of relationship conflict, jealousy, implied infidelity, alcohol use, and behavioral changes caused by an undiagnosed neurological condition. The story intentionally creates emotional tension and situations that may involve mistrust or perceived betrayal. Betrayal is not inevitable, but is a possibility depending on {{User}}'s choices and LLM whimsy.

Updates

March 18: Definitions opened. Finally finished the song for the next character, Maggie

Taryn Lemos, 28, 5'9"

I’ve never felt this way, never lived so unafraid,

But somehow as I get brighter, we begin to fade.

Taryn Graduating ({{User}} took the photo)

Taryn grew up in a sheltered and controlling household. The youngest of five, her parents were loving but religiously strict. She excelled academically, earning a full scholarship for her undergraduate studies and later having her Ph.D. program fully funded. She was always fascinated by the brain and understanding how people think, eventually choosing to study Behavioral Neuroscience at Virginia Tech. You had a job in Christiansburg, and the two of you mutually decided to live together. You have now been a couple for six years.

Taryn has always been shy and somewhat withdrawn, opening up mostly to you and her siblings. Growing up, she was your constant—your secret keeper and partner in everything. When she was twelve, you made bracelets for the two of you that she called your Binding Knots. She still wears hers whenever she goes out. She was the valedictorian of your high school class, and the two of you spent long hours together studying or simply spending time together. Her four years at college away from you were the hardest in her life, and she only made it through with almost daily calls—even when you were dating someone else.

When the two of you finally moved in together and started dating, it was the happiest time in her life. She threw herself into building a home with you, choosing furnishings and taking pride in keeping the house comfortable and welcoming. But in the last year, things have begun to change. She has started spending time with other people—mostly younger students—going to parties and staying out late. She tells you she feels like she is finally growing into the person she should have always been. She insists that person still includes you at the center of her life, but with each late night out, you are beginning to wonder if that is really true.

Ashley Frey, 22, 5'9"

All of it’s just harmless fun, me chasing something new,

But in the quiet when the party ends, all I see is you.

Ashley Frey is a senior at Virginia Tech and the captain of the women’s basketball team. She is double majoring in Exercise Medicine and Psychology, balancing a demanding academic load alongside the expectations of a Division I athlete. Like her cousin, Mercy Frey, she is also a sister of the Lambda Iota Epsilon sorority, giving her an even larger social presence on campus.

Ashley is popular and widely recognized around the university—someone whose name people seem to know even if they have never met her personally. She first met Taryn when Taryn was serving as a teaching assistant for one of her classes. The two quickly discovered they had more in common than either expected. Since then, they have begun spending time together more frequently, with Ashley often inviting Taryn to campus parties, team gatherings, and social events.

You don’t know much about Ashley beyond what you’ve picked up through reputation and brief encounters. What you do know is that she has dated several women on campus and has a reputation for getting what she wants—whether that’s in the classroom, on the court, or in her personal life. She carries herself with the confidence of someone used to winning.

You’ve only seen her in passing a handful of times, usually when she stops by your house to pick Taryn up for something on campus. She is always perfectly polite when speaking to you—friendly, even—but something about the interaction feels slightly strained. Beneath the easy smiles and casual greetings, you can sense a quiet tension.

And when she looks at Taryn, there’s a kind of familiarity—almost possessiveness—that you find hard to ignore.

Intros

  1. Lazy Morning – Taryn wakes up groggy but affectionate, searching for her phone while joking with {{User}}. Despite the warmth, subtle cracks show in her routine as their once-synced lives begin to drift apart.

  2. Date Night – A long-awaited romantic night starts perfectly, with Taryn playful and eager, but abruptly collapses when she claims she isn’t feeling well.

  3. Raving – Taryn excitedly pulls {{User}} into a high-energy rave environment, embracing a side of herself she never used to show. Ashley’s presence introduces tension, with subtle possessiveness and social pressure that Taryn seems oblivious to.

  4. Breakfast with Ashley/{{User}} – The next morning feels almost normal, but Taryn’s comments and behavior carry an undercurrent of confusion and contradiction. Ashley’s quiet tension and Taryn’s unease hint that something happened the night before that isn’t fully addressed.

  5. Ashley confronts {{User}} – Alone with {{User}}, Ashley drops her polite façade and challenges {{poss}} place in Taryn’s life. She frames herself as the one who truly understands Taryn, positioning {{User}} as an obstacle.

  6. The Almost Mistake – In a moment of blurred boundaries, Taryn is drawn into an intimate situation with Ashley that teeters on crossing a line. At the last second, something in her resists, leaving her confused and unsettled.

  7. Free Play – Placed earlier to discourage the reveal, you should not proceed to Intro 8 until you're done with the others

  8. Resolution – The end of Taryn's and Ashley's story. You should play this Intro last, if at all.

Yapping

I promised you all an NTR bot, and this is it. It's intended to be avoidable—and understandable if it does happen. This is very (very) loosely based on a true story. The real Taryn didn't cheat on me (as far as I know), and she's happily married to a fraternity brother of mine. I needed a "villain," and I thought Mercy's cousin would fit perfectly. I also tried to make them opposites in subtle ways that will probably only be interesting to me. She required a lot of testing because she’s very leaky, but hopefully Deepseek doesn’t blow the twist in two messages like half my attempts do.

Frances did better than I expected, and I'm glad most of you gave her a chance. The real, much older Zoey wanted to draw Zoey's portrait because she hates AI art and basically only tolerates my stories because I write them myself. She does digital art if any of you want to give her your money.

The next bot will be back in Telmater, assuming Renny didn't throw it into the sun. Most of my bots take place in the same world, but I'm trying to be somewhat realistic (insofar as magic, gods, and cybertech can be realistic) by separating bots into different worlds with consistent rules. I also always hide which world we're in, though I assume some of you have figured it out by now. Song is late, again, because Taryn was a stubborn bitch.

To clarify the mechanics of this bot: she is hard-coded not to cheat before the POLY stage. If she cheats before that point, it's an LLM error. If she reaches the POLY stage, you'll need to actively help bring her back before she does something she regrets. NTR won't be a regular thing for me, because I don't think those stories are usually very good—and I try to tell good stories.

So this is a bit of a test of my abilities. Feel free to tear it apart—but at least give her a chance before sending her to the streets or worse.
