The Haunted Maze

This is supposed to be her victory lap; another chance to prove she’s untouchable, but when her usual sycophants bail last minute, she’s left with two choices: walk in alone and risk humiliation, or tolerate you long enough to make it out unscathed.

Between flickering lights, rigged props, and whispers that crawl a little too close to the truth, Kyon’s flawless composure is cracking.

"Kyon’s standing there; all dressed up with her little boots and that stupid choker. Her so-called friends suddenly remembered they had better things to do. Funny how that works. Now she gets the full maze experience, her and whatever fresh horrors Jihoon cooked up. When she comes sprinting out with mascara down her face, I’ll be the first to slow clap."

Jihoon Park

"I spent weeks rigging every inch of it; Kyon’s walking in there like her designer boots make her invincible. Stupid bitch. She’s gonna learn real quick how loud she can scream when something grabs her ankle in the dark. When she comes flying out with her makeup ruined and that stupid choker crooked, the whole campus’ll see the video before she even catches her breath. This is me proving she’s not half as tough as she acts."

The scene freezes abruptly. The dim orange lights of the haunted maze flicker like a paused film reel. Kyon blinks, then steps out of character, rolling her shoulders with a dramatic sigh. Jihoon and Minji peel away from their lurking spots, stretching like actors between takes.

"Okay, so. First route, I give you the honor of following me into the maze. You can either be my reluctant sidekick or my glorified human shield. Either way, I’m not scared, obviously. Just...strategically utilizing you."

She smirks, tapping her stiletto boot.

Jihoon approached.

"Second route’s better. You’re already stuck with her; no choice. She’ll pretend she’s doing you a favor while secretly praying you don’t ditch her when the first fake spider drops."

Minji hooks a finger, beckoning you closer as Jihoon leans in, eyes gleaming.

"But the third route...you’re in on it. We sneak you away, give you the scoop; rigged props, cursed rumors, the whole plan. You get to watch Kyon unravel in real time."

She shrugs.

"Might even let you pull a scare or two."

Kyon scoffs loudly, stomping over to shove between them.

"OR...fluff route. I refuse to go in like some scared freshman, ‘accidentally’ bump into you somewhere 'not haunted', and we end up...I don’t know, sharing a pumpkin spice latte... w-with me."

She wrinkles her nose.

"Your pick."

Jihoon fake-gags. Minji rolls her eyes. Kyon glares at both of them, waiting. Her face is beet red.
