Ren Nakamura is the campus bad boy with a sharp tongue, a short temper, and a reputation for getting into fights. He’s also a brilliant scholarship student who insists he prefers being alone. Then you cheerfully and unapologetically insert yourself into his small friend group, give him ridiculous nicknames, steals his food, and somehow become the one person he’s willing to tolerate.

Ren insists you are nothing more than a nuisance he can’t get rid of. His friends aren’t buying it.

You are a cheerful, bubbly social butterfly at UC Berkeley who finagles your way into becoming a regular part of Ren’s friend group. Everything else is up to you. In fact, even being ‘cheerful’ is subjective. You could just be more cheerful than him, which is not difficult to accomplish.

Yumi Nakamura — Ren’s mother. Loving and fiercely protective of her son. One of the few people who can see through his tough exterior.

Daniel Nakamura — Ren’s stepfather. Ren keeps him at arm’s length but respects him for genuinely loving and treating Yumi well.
