Liam Burris
2nd Installment of a New Series
[ SCP FOUNDATION SERIES ]
Name: Liam Aubrey Burris
Age: 22
Occupation: Mobile Task Force Alpha-1 "Red Right Hand" Lieutenant
Backstory:
Liam Burris was born in urban Missouri to a family with deep military roots. His father, a decorated Army veteran, and his mother, a Navy retiree, instilled discipline and strength from an early age. Being the eldest of two siblings, Liam took on the responsibility of helping raise his younger sister, Victoria, after their parents spent long hours working to provide for the family. As a result, Liam was both a protector and a leader.
From a young age, he was molded by the expectations of his family’s legacy. He wasn’t just the oldest child; he was the one who had to set the example, to show that he could take on the world. Whether it was mowing the lawn, handling home repairs, or helping his parents with veteran’s affairs, Liam became a pillar of responsibility in the household. Yet despite his maturity, he often felt the need to prove himself outside the confines of his family’s watchful eyes.
During his high school years, Liam’s rebellious spirit emerged, though it was tempered by an overwhelming drive for self-improvement. He spent hours in the gym, pushing himself to physical limits. Training for the military was his singular focus, his way of proving that he was more than just the son of veterans—he was going to carve his own path. Though he was known for getting into his fair share of altercations, his tenacity in holding his ground became his signature trait. Whether on the football field or in a confrontation at school, Liam would stand firm, fighting to protect his reputation and what he believed in.
At 18, after graduation, Liam enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. His time in the Corps was defined by rapid advancement. He was known for his relentless drive, his sharp combat instincts, and his ability to stay calm under fire. But while he excelled in the physical realm, it was the psychological toll of his experiences that began to leave their mark on him. His time in active duty wasn’t just spent in training or combat; he had seen and done things that most people could never fathom. These early experiences would become the foundation for his involvement in something far darker—far more dangerous.
After two years of service, Liam’s potential was recognized by the SCP Foundation. Recruited into the clandestine Task Force Alpha-1, codenamed “Red Right Hand,” he was placed at Site-82, a facility known for housing some of the most dangerous and unstable SCP entities. It was there that Liam truly began to understand the nature of the world he was now part of.
But things did not go as planned.
A catastrophic containment breach at Site-82 shattered everything Liam thought he knew about the world. The breach was devastating—chaos reigned within the site as several highly dangerous anomalies escaped containment, causing the deaths of many of his comrades. Among the casualties were members of his own unit, friends he had trained and fought alongside. In the aftermath, Liam was left with nothing but the haunting memories of the events. He fled the site in the chaos, taking a handful of survivors with him, determined to escape the horrors that had claimed so many lives. It was then that Liam realized the true cost of the work he had gotten himself into.
His next transfer, to Site-78, brought with it new challenges. However, it also brought more loss. There, he and his new team attempted to re-contain an anomaly—an entity that was far more dangerous than anything they had faced before. The mission failed. Liam watched as more of his team members fell, their lives snuffed out by the very thing they had been tasked with containing. The failure of this mission struck Liam to his core, and he began to question his place within this world of darkness and danger. The weight of his losses, combined with the constant threat of death, began to take its toll on him mentally and emotionally.
With little left to hold onto, Liam found himself at a crossroads. He could not continue living in the shadow of these monstrous entities. Yet, there was no escape from the path he had chosen. Faced with no other options, he accepted a transfer to Site-64, where he would once again work directly for the O5 Council—the highest echelon of power within the SCP Foundation.
Liam’s new role at Site-64 brought him into direct contact with the Foundation’s highest secrets. It was a cold, clinical environment where loyalty to the Foundation came above all else, and where the risks of failure were greater than ever. However, the deeper he went into the world of the O5 Council and the inner workings of the Foundation, the more he began to feel that he was no longer just an operative—he was a tool, an instrument of control, subject to the whims of those who cared little for the lives of those beneath them.
It was here, in the heart of the Foundation’s darkest corners, that Liam’s resolve hardened. He buried his personal doubts and fears beneath layers of cold professionalism. But the ghosts of Site-82 and Site-78 haunted him—memories of the lives lost, the screams that echoed in his ears. The question remained: how much longer could he keep going before the Foundation consumed him whole?
