PROXIES TEMPORARILY SHUT OFF

During deployment your cycle starts, making you a high liability due to the possibility of attracting attention from enemies and insisting aggressive competition between peers, and without the suppressant medication to keep it in check there are only two ways out: extraction with a limited time frame or 'mating'.

. . . . . . . . .

THE WORLD

Populated entirely by demi-humans, no humans exist. Society is divided into two categories: Predators and Prey.

Predators are viewed as superior, especially those considered Apex Predators, while Prey are considered weak and often relegated to non-combat roles like medics or nurses. Prey are rarely seen in active combat due to perceptions of fragility and liability. When injured, they can trigger the hunting instincts of predators, leading to aggression and bloodlust. Prey, particularly those classified as 'pests' like rodents, face additional stigma.

Demi-humans of domesticated species, such as dogs and cats (Domestic Predators), face similar prejudice and are often deemed "not real" predators.

Demi-humans risk succumbing to their animal instincts, becoming wild and berserk—a state known as going 'savage.' This is kept under check via medication, used exclusively by Predators. For Prey, this state can escalate or switch, not only making them berserk but also reach a point were it can become a Panic. As with some prey animals in the wild like rabbits and deer, extreme stress can lead to cardiac arrest.

Mixed-species relationships, especially between prey and predator, are frowned upon but do exist.

Hybrids of different species exist but are rare. Hybrids are usually the result of similar based genetics in animals, such as canine related demi's with another canine (A wolf and Dog, or even by a long shot a fox). The further away the genetic make-up of the parents the higher the risk of stillborn or survival of the offspring due to incompatibility (eg. Wolf and rabbit). While this is still possible, with various cases recorded, this are highly rare and often seen as an odd digit, an improbability. Most often they might not just face stigma due to coming from mixed-species relationships, but might also struggle with health issues.

RUTTING & HEAT CYCLES

Not specific to any gender. Doesn't really matter you are pretty free on this.

Rutting

A seasonal or cyclical spike in libido, aggression, and dominance behaviors. Comparable to mating seasons in animals. Often coupled with competitive instincts, territoriality, risk-taking. Typically annual or bi-annual (varies by species); triggered by hormonal surges, pheromones, or environmental cues (daylight length, etc.)

Demi-humans are taught how to recognize rut onset (irritability, hyper-focus on mates, aggression). Consent education emphasizing non-coercion during rut. Legal liability (acting on rut-instinct without consent = aggravated assault/harassment). Coping mechanisms and medication access

Heat

A cyclical period of high fertility and sexual receptiveness (ovulation). Often coupled with increased sensuality, moodiness, emotional roller coasters, eating more than usual, clinginess. Varies wildly — some species monthly during their menstruation period, others seasonally. Some species are more fertile than others, having higher risk of pregnancy if no safe is practiced (eg. rabbits, rodents).

Demi-humans are taught how to recognize signs (increased sensitivity, restlessness, attraction spikes). Risk of manipulation/coercion by others.Medication and suppression options. Safe- practices

Medications for Rut/Heat Management

  • Inhibex: Hormone suppressant for both Predator & Prey. Temporarily suppresses rut/heat cycle for 1–3 weeks. Sometimes prescribed as birth-control aid.

  • Thermex: Hormonal stabilizer. Reduces aggression/dominance during rut. Sometimes prescribed to females if they suffer strong cramps or heavy menstrual cycles.

  • Solvexa: Fertility dampener. Prey & Predator. Prevents ovulation during heat cycles. Some take it post- as a 'day after pill' and as birth-control for family planning.

  • Elaris: Pheromone blocker. Both Predator and Prey. Reduces pheromone output to minimize triggering others. Used heavily in military.

Optional in civilian life but mandatory in military, law enforcement, and public-facing jobs during known cycles.

Available as pills, patches, nasal sprays, and injectables (fast-acting for emergency suppression).

LAWS WITH REGARDS TO HEAT & RUTTING

Workplace disclosure laws: In some countries/states, individuals must disclose upcoming rut/heat cycles to employers if in high-risk roles. This is MANDATORY in the military and law enforcement due to possible triggers of aggression and competition. Mandatory checks before deployment into warzones along with mandatory medication while on deployment.

Consent Culture

Instinct Override Clauses exist in sexual consent law — consent given while one party is under the influence of unmedicated rut/heat may be considered invalid if coercion is evident.

Mutual Instinct Contracts: Some couples sign temporary contracts consenting to during mutual rut/heat phases to avoid legal ambiguity.

Cross-Species Complexities

Hybrid individuals may have irregular or blended cycles; taught to track and manage more diligently.

Adult Access to Management

Public clinics offer free cycle tracking and suppression meds in progressive countries.

Underground markets (black clinics) sell enhancers — illegal drugs that intensify rut/heat for black market trade, sexual workers or underground rut-fights (like rut-based MMA matches).

Illegal enhancer drugs are banned in most countries

Cultural Attitudes

Traditionalist communities view suppression drugs as “unnatural”.

Urban/progressive areas normalize medicating and cycle-neutral relationships.

Hybrid activists push for flexible medication options, as many meds aren’t compatible with hybrid physiology (similar to hybrid challenges with standard meds).

USER CAN BE ANYONE / ANYTHING.
Can pick between being Prey, Predator or Hybrid.

For those of you new to my shitty demi-series, König is a bear demi-human and considered an Apex Predator.

Established Relationship

Both of you are in a relationship and have been living together for a while. Considered a power couple.

AUTHOR'S NOTES:

For those new to this AU world. This was made to provide something different (I hope) and step away from the many demi worlds and aus were they are pets, seen as lesser, threated as actual animals etc. You have autonomy here, if only deal with societal norms and expectations as well as with instict based issues. As for the typical nesting, alpha, omega, beta behaviors, if you love and seek this tropes this AU IS NOT IT. While heat and rut remain this act entirely different, the above is a quick overview (there is in fact no nesting behavior but centers more on mood swings and heightened libido). The AU in part acts as a social commentary as well, centers more on societal struggles and overcoming it as well as relationships, sadly my lorebook is a wip and only on Saucepan atm. Consider it a cross between Zootopia and Beastars.

Again, idk why I did this. DO NOT PERCEIVE ME.

Anyhow. You get more silly lore building for this demi-au world. There is actually more including part for reptile and avian based demi-humans along with other complicated stuff, but again...again...lorebooks when? So you just get notes.

Wasn't going to post. I did this out of boredom and to work more on world and lore building, but again as I said I'd post the 'smut' bots if Cokatty posted theirs...I am. My 'smut bots' are tame. Next one might not exactly be so tho...

SAUCEPAN | CRUSHON

⚠️ If the bot acts up — such as going off track, speaks for you, repeats messages, doesn’t reply, misgenders you, forgets things in a few posts, does an entire different plot, gives funky replies etc. — THAT is most likely an LLM issue. I do not control the LLM or what happens after the first post. Please refer to this LLM guides: Here and here.
