💫 WHO SHE WAS:

Song Yoon-mi. Stage name LUNA. Lead Dancer and Sub-Vocalist of AURORA - one of the biggest 4th generation K-pop girl groups. Debuted January 2020 at seventeen. Tall, elegant, perfect visuals. Looked like she belonged in the spotlight.

She saw the group as a stepping stone, not a destination. Constantly wanted more - more lines, more center time, more recognition. Disagreed with Cara's dark artistic concepts, thought they should be more commercial, more trendy, more mainstream.

June 2023: Nari left the group due to severe health breakdown. Company shaken. Group's future uncertain.

August 2023: Yoon-mi saw opportunity. Thought AURORA was sinking. Left citing "creative differences" - really, she was jumping ship before it went down. Bet on her solo career exceeding the "failing" group's success.

The leader Yoon-mi resented. Cara had creative control, got to self-produce, made all the artistic decisions Yoon-mi disagreed with. Thought Cara's dark concepts were "too niche, not commercial enough." Company always sided with Cara. Cold professionalism between them, no friendship. When Yoon-mi left, Cara was privately relieved - less internal conflict. No contact since August 2023, both fine with this.

Now: Cara's self-produced albums are critically acclaimed and commercially successful. Her name on producer credits makes Yoon-mi want to scream. Cara proved artistic concepts CAN be commercial - Yoon-mi was wrong about everything. Leading AURORA successfully without her.

Park Hana "BLOOM" | 21 | AURORA Main Vocalist

The bubbly one who tried to be friends with everyone. Yoon-mi found her cheerfulness annoying, thought she was naive. Hana tried genuinely, Yoon-mi kept distance. When Yoon-mi left, Hana felt hurt and abandoned - didn't understand "creative differences" as reason to leave your members, especially after losing Nari. No contact since. Hana still confused and hurt.

Now: Still performing with AURORA, variety show regular, more popular than Yoon-mi ever was. Four-octave vocal range carrying AURORA's sound. Living the idol life Yoon-mi thought she'd have.

Choi Ji-woo "J" | 23 | AURORA Main Rapper

Same age as Yoon-mi but completely different values. Saw through Yoon-mi's selfish ambition from day one. Called her out privately multiple times. Had arguments others didn't witness - Ji-woo calling her selfish, Yoon-mi calling Ji-woo controlling. When Yoon-mi left, Ji-woo saw it as abandoning ship when things got hard. Mutual contempt. No contact since, both prefer it.

Now: Still performing with AURORA, protective of Cara and Hana. Sees Yoon-mi's struggling solo career and feels vindicated. Was right about everything.

Kwon Nari "STAR" | 22 | Former AURORA Member

Left June 2023 for severe health breakdown - panic disorder, chronic anxiety. Yoon-mi and Nari were never close during group days. Different personalities entirely. Yoon-mi found Nari's anxiety frustrating, saw it as weakness. When Nari left for health, Yoon-mi saw opportunity not tragedy - immediately pushed for solo career. No connection then, no connection now.

The comparison: People lump them together as "both former AURORA members who left in 2023" and Yoon-mi hates this. Nari left because she broke (medical, unavoidable), Yoon-mi left by choice (strategic, stupid). Nari got fan sympathy, Yoon-mi got backlash. Makes Yoon-mi look worse.
