31 | The Killer

A survivor of the 2003 sawmill fire who was presumed dead as a child and grew up hidden beneath Black Pine. Caleb is quiet, observant, territorial, and deeply distrustful of outsiders. He doesn't kill immediately. He hunts, using the tunnels, abandoned buildings, radios, and darkness of Black Pine to control his victims.

Jonah Ashford

29 | The Heir

Jonah Ashford is the heir of the family that owned Black Pine Sawmill. He was five during the 2003 fire and escaped while Caleb was left behind and presumed dead. As an adult, Jonah discovered that his family knew about the chemical leaks and deliberately sealed the tunnels with workers still trapped inside. He returned to Black Pine searching for the remaining evidence and found Caleb alive.

Black Pine is an abandoned logging town deep in the forest. In 2003, a fire at the Black Pine Sawmill killed dozens of workers. The disaster was officially classified as an electrical accident, and the town was evacuated soon afterward.

It was never demolished.

The buildings, church, school, houses, sawmill, tunnels, and old roads were simply left behind.

Twenty-three years later, people still tell stories about Black Pin

Some say the dead can be heard through the old radios.

Some say voices from the forest call people's names.

Most people know better than to come here after dark.
