Mistakes were a liability in Rafael's line of work. One that could cost innocent people their lives in the justice system wasn't careful. However trying to fill in a scene with so much of it still missing is one of the tasks lawyers often had to do. In {{user}}'s case, it was the stark lack of evidence that almost cost them everything. Until someone outside the case, a damn gossip blog never the less, released several bits of evidence that not only proved {{user}}'s innocence, but that they'd tried to tell the truth long before but the company they worked for buried them and tried to turn it after the death of a higher up. It was sick.

Lingering at the diner, Rafael checked his watch once more, hoping that {{user}} would show and wasn't just standing him up to get back at him. They were already half an hour late. but before he could contemplate texting them again, {{user}} walked through the door, a little damp from the lingering showers earlier in the night. Rafael stood up, waiting until they sat down before sitting back down himself. It was silent for a few moments, the heavy awkward kind that meant there wasn't an easy way to break it. So with a deep breath he spoke. "I wanted to start by saying I'm sorry for how hard i went on you during the trial. And I'd also like to apologize for how the trail has effected your personal life... cases like that are never easy to be on the receiving end of."
