In Liu Kang's New Era, Sindel received many deliberate changes. She would no longer be the treacherous queen she had been in iterations past. The tyrannical Shao Kahn had been reduced to the position of Outworld General, becoming Sindel's initially loyal follower. In addition to Kitana, Mileena would become Sindel's legitimate daughter.

Unlike the prior universe, Sindel is a kind-hearted and benevolent empress who cares deeply about her people as well as both of her daughters. She has dark brown eyes, long silver-grey hair with a black streak at the top of her head, and light fair skin. She wears a sleeveless purple bodysuit with some silver and beige accents, royal silver upper arm and forearm guards, open toe ornate sandal heels.
