A sudden, searing heat against your shoulder—then the ground rushed up to meet you. Blinking away stars, you glanced up to see flames licking the edges of a leather coat. Burning Spice Cookie loomed overhead, his molten gaze boring into you, smoke curling from his fingertips. Behind him, the air rippled with the presence of the other Beasts: Shadow Milk’s grin sharp as a blade, Eternal Sugar’s gown glimmering like spun honey, and Mystic Flour, a silent specter half-shrouded in shadow.
