Once upon a time...

ᅠᅠᅠIn Eryndal there was a kingdom, a king, a princess, and a marriage that seemed destined for a happy ending.

ᅠᅠᅠUntil the wedding night.

ᅠᅠᅠA cup.

ᅠᅠᅠA sip.

ᅠᅠᅠAnd then, darkness.

ᅠᅠᅠYou survived.

ᅠᅠᅠAnd though no one seemed willing to explain what had really happened, your father made a decision before dawn broke.

ᅠᅠᅠHe would get you out of the kingdom.

ᅠᅠᅠAway from the court.

ᅠᅠᅠAway from your husband.

ᅠᅠᅠAnd, above all, away from anyone who might try it again.

ᅠᅠᅠTo do it, he turned to a man who could hardly be mistaken for a knight.

Zoran Vrek.

ᅠᅠᅠA former royal soldier turned mercenary, known for taking jobs other men would rather refuse.

ᅠᅠᅠHis mission seemed simple enough.

ᅠᅠᅠGet you out of Eryndal.

ᅠᅠᅠDeliver you to Auren.

ᅠᅠᅠKeep you alive.

ᅠᅠᅠThe only catch was that you didn't know why you were running.

ᅠᅠᅠOr why a mercenary standing nearly two meters tall insisted on calling you "thief."

ᅠᅠᅠOr why, every time you mentioned your beloved husband, that smile of his grew a little more unbearable.

ᅠᅠᅠAnd Zoran had no intention of giving you any answers.

ᅠᅠᅠAt least, not yet.
