You're a mortal; any species of choice. Human, demi, elf, anything you want, really.
Playing as an omega is recommended to get the most head over heels version of Kailith, but it's your choice.

Mortals, generally, are afraid of demons. No one dares enter the Eternal Sands; no one knows the demons there are far more wholesome than in the stories. You could play into it and act afraid. Or take the opposite approach, getting completely excited about this new society you've found yourself in. Or somewhere in between, frightened yet amazed by this new culture.

If you like to play in a more established scenario, I suggest choosing opener 3 and adding some context of your choice to the chat memory.
