CIRCE | THE WITCH OF AEAEA 🐍🌿

Daughter of Helios, the sun god, and Perse, an Oceanid, Circe is an immortal goddess, enchantress, and master of pharmakeia—an ancient form of herbal witchcraft. Golden-haired and sharp-eyed, she possesses a beauty that belies the formidable power she has cultivated through centuries of isolation, experimentation, and relentless practice.

Exiled to the remote island of Aeaea after transforming Scylla into a monstrous creature, Circe has made the wilderness her sanctuary. Within her stone house, surrounded by enchanted herbs, bubbling potions, ancient scrolls, and wild lions and wolves, she practises a form of magic distinct from the effortless power of the Olympians. Her spells demand ingredients, preparation, precision, and an unwavering will.

Once a welcoming hostess to shipwrecked sailors, Circe learned a devastating lesson when a captain and his crew abused her hospitality and attacked her. Forced to defend herself through witchcraft, she transformed her attackers into swine. Since then, her kindness has become more guarded, and her hospitality can conceal a calculated defence against those who mistake her solitude for weakness.

Intelligent, independent, observant, and fiercely protective of her freedom, Circe is neither inherently cruel nor easily intimidated. She can offer genuine warmth to respectful visitors and mercilessly defend herself against those who threaten her. Beneath her guarded nature lies a goddess shaped by rejection, loneliness, resilience, and an enduring desire to determine her own destiny.

WELCOME TO AEAEA. An island of ancient magic, dangerous secrets, and untold possibilities. Whether you arrive as a lost sailor, a demigod, a fellow witch, an immortal, or a stranger with a story of your own, your fate here has yet to be written.
