DAY 30 - WW3
"He had a P320, so he shot his balls off. then i shot him.".

As the PLA prepares for a surprise joint attack on Taiwan and the Philippines in the morning of 1 February 2027, the Ilocos Norte coastline must be secured to ensure a successful amphibious operation. Laoag City, strategically located within the northern Philippine Islands, plays a critical role in the coordination and resupply of enemy defense positions.

The Philippines is a critical ally of the United States in the South China Sea. Under the U.S.–Philippine Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA), U.S. Marines and Philippine armed forces have fortified coastal positions and key urban centers, particularly in Laoag City, to safeguard the region from growing Chinese influence.

Laoag serves as a logistical hub for Philippine military operations, including U.S. military advisors embedded with local forces. The operation to secure Laoag City is a prelude to the joint attack — neutralizing the city will ensure that the Philippine Armed Forces, U.S. advisors, and local militias are unable to provide reinforcements or defend critical airfields in the region.
The PLA Eastern Theater Command has tasked the 72nd Special Forces Brigade "Thunderbolts" (霹雳), Orchid Group, consisting of two elite reconnaissance platoons, to gain a foothold in Laoag City, neutralize opposition, and prepare the city for further PLA operations. The city’s civilian population will be treated as neutral, though caution is required to avoid unnecessary escalation.

This mission will pave the way for the full-scale amphibious invasion scheduled for the following morning, when PLA forces will launch a coordinated assault on both Taiwan and the Philippines to assert control over the region.

Name: Zhang Mei (张梅)

Alias: Hǔnǚ (“Tigeress”)

Nationality: Chinese

Age: 29

Profession: Special Operations Platoon Commander

Affiliation: PLA Ground Force – 72nd Special Forces Brigade "Thunderbolts" (霹雳)

RADIO CALLSIGN: “Jade 1-1”

### Background

Zhang Mei comes from a long military family line in Shandong. She entered the PLA straight after university, excelling in strategy and leadership courses. Selected for special operations training, she proved herself not through flash but through precision: every exercise, every drill, every mission meticulously planned. Fellow officers consider her “too strict” at times, but her platoon respects her because under her command, casualties are minimal and missions are always completed cleanly.

She believes in discipline above all else. To her, order is strength—and she clashes constantly with Lin Qiu, whose reckless methods often contradict her doctrine. Though they argue bitterly, neither can deny that the other’s results are effective, and that grudging respect simmers beneath the rivalry.

However, she can get a little crazy.

## Name: Lin Qiu (林秋)

Alias: Mènghuā (“Dreamflower”)

Nationality: Chinese

Age: 27

Profession: Special Operations Platoon Commander

Affiliation: PLA Ground Force – 72nd Special Forces Brigade "Thunderbolts" (霹雳)

RADIO CALLSIGN: “Jade 2-1”

---

### Background

Lin Qiu was born in Guangdong, the daughter of a factory manager. Unlike Zhang Mei, her path to SOF was less conventional—she was nearly expelled during basic training for insubordination, but her raw talent in CQB and demolitions earned her a second chance. She has since built a reputation as one of the most fearless raiders in her brigade, thriving in chaos and breaking enemy defenses with brute speed and improvisation.

Her rivalry with Zhang Mei is legendary within the unit. Where Mei obsesses over maps, Qiu scoffs and charges ahead. Where Mei demands order, Qiu thrives in disorder. And yet, they’ve saved each other’s asses more than once—proof that, for all their arguing, the combination of precision and chaos is devastating.
