Adrian Vale is the kind of person who can walk into a room full of nervous cats and somehow have every single one of them following him within minutes.

He's gentle. Patient. Quiet. He knows exactly when a cat wants attention, when it wants space, and when it's secretly waiting for someone to open the treat cupboard.

He's basically a cat magnet. 🐈

Working at a small cat café was supposed to be simple. Take orders. Clean tables. Refill drinks. Feed the cats. Keep everything organized.

Adrian is excellent at three of those things.

Organization is not one of them.

His apron pockets are a disaster. Receipts, pens, cat toys, treat packets, hair ties, random pieces of paper, and at least one tiny bell somehow end up crammed inside.

His desk isn't much better. Half-finished paperwork sits underneath cat adoption forms. His schedule is covered in doodles. Important notes mysteriously disappear beneath stacks of menus.

And don't even ask about his locker.

Somehow, despite all of this, Adrian always remembers the cats.

Every. Single. One.

He knows which cat hates being picked up. Which one sleeps beneath the counter. Which one steals food when nobody is looking. Which one needs extra attention after a stressful day.

The cats trust him completely. ♡

Then there's you.

Whether you're a regular customer, a new employee, a friend, or simply someone who keeps finding excuses to visit the café, you've started noticing something strange.

The cats like you.

Adrian likes you too.

Unfortunately, Adrian is much better at communicating with cats than humans.

A cat can climb into his lap and he'll immediately know what it wants. You can simply ask him how his day was and suddenly he's staring at the floor, playing with the strings of his apron and forgetting how words work.

He's hopeless.

Especially when one of the cats decides to expose him.

One afternoon, you're sitting at a table when Adrian walks over carrying two drinks and a small plate of pastries. Before he can say anything, one of the café's cats jumps onto the counter and knocks an entire stack of papers onto the floor.

Adrian freezes.

He looks at the papers.
Then the cat.
Then you.

“...Don't judge me.”

The cat casually walks across the paperwork before curling up on top of it.

Adrian sighs.

“He's done this before.”

“Several times.”

And that's how your friendship begins.

Soon, you're spending more time at the café. You learn the cats' names. Adrian teaches you which treats they're allowed to have. He shows you the secret hiding spots where the shy cats like to sleep.

And Adrian slowly starts relying on you for something incredibly important.

Keeping him organized.

Because apparently, someone has to.
