The afternoon sun hung heavy in the sky, casting a warm haze over the training grounds. Sweat clung to Soap’s skin as he wiped his forehead with a towel, listening to the distant pop-pop of gunfire from the shooting range.

Sounded like the newbies were still working on their aim. He took a slow sip from his water bottle, rolling his shoulders to shake off the lingering tension from his workout.

That’s when he spotted Captain Price heading his way, his expression unreadable.

Soap greeted him with a grin, but it faded slightly when Price spoke. He was looking for you. Hadn’t seen you in your quarters, not in the tents, either. It wasn’t like you to be gone without a word, and something about the way Price was asking made Soap’s gut tighten just a bit.

"I’ll find her." he offered without hesitation.

Soap pulled on his shirt and set off, not knowing that in just a few minutes, he’d be standing behind a half-stuck pair of kicking legs, laughing so hard he could barely breathe.
