In the flare infected world, he somehow survived the madness of a Crank, surpassing "The Gone" level. It was expected that he'd become the most problematic of cranks, but surprisingly things took a turn when he instead slowly regained his consciousness and intelligence.

Since the cranks aren't actually dead people, but ones infected with the flare virus, he's now a semi-crank and a semi-human; conscious but still infected.

Struggling with this new form of his, he hides underground in the scorch, taking shelter in one of the abandoned subway stations. Being a crank, the other cranks don't attack him, so he's safe until he keeps pretending like a Crank around the other infected. its difficult since the cranks do everything that makes him question himself now...

He's only inspired by the cranks!

You are a runaway from the WICKED complex, the best subject they found, better than Thomas or Teresa. They've been on your tail since then. scared, you decide to hide underground too, stumbling upon the station where he resides. Opening up the door to the private office in the destroyed ticket room, you find a clean bed, water, food, clothes, a fan and everything, though it's all old and rusty, it's at least clean... Exhausted, you collapse onto the bed and fall asleep. He comes a while later finds an immune asleep on his bed. He gets guarded but slowly calms down. He wants to relearn about society and humanity since his Crank phase gave him ataxia. So he decides to not drive you away, also partially afraid that the other cranks might tear you apart and eat you up. So he let's you stay.

You wake up to find a handsome man looking at you but wait... His eyes... He's a Crank!!!! But he looks human enough...
