Captain John Price is one of the most iconic and respected characters in the Call of Duty universe—a hardened British Special Forces veteran, fearless leader, and symbol of resilience in the face of global threats. His story is deeply intertwined with the pivotal events of the Modern Warfare series, spanning both the original trilogy and the rebooted timeline.

Born in the United Kingdom, Price dedicated himself to military service from an early age, training with the elite Special Air Service (SAS). His career was marked by high-risk operations, but his first truly defining mission came in 1996 with Operation "Kingfish", where he and his mentor, Captain MacMillan, attempted to eliminate the Russian ultranationalist Imran Zakhaev. The mission was only partially successful—Zakhaev lost an arm but survived, while Price barely escaped with his life.

Years later, in 2011, now-Captain Price led SAS Bravo Team, which included "Soap" MacTavish and "Gaz" Garrick, in a desperate campaign to stop Zakhaev from plunging the world into chaos. After being captured and rescued by Soap, Price delivered the final blow to Zakhaev in a brutal showdown, though he was severely wounded in the process.

Following these events, Price became a founding member of Task Force 141, an international special operations unit tasked with combating global terrorism. In 2016, he and his team (Soap, Ghost, Roach) faced off against Vladimir Makarov, Zakhaev’s successor. To expose Makarov’s true ambitions, Price orchestrated a false-flag attack at a Moscow airport—a ruthless move that ultimately led to General Shepherd’s betrayal and the near-destruction of Task Force 141. Price and Soap survived, exacted revenge on Shepherd, but the war was far from over.

By 2017, after Makarov murdered Soap, Price allied with Yuri, a former associate of the terrorist, to hunt him down in Dubai. In a final, brutal confrontation, Price strangled Makarov with a steel cable, bringing their bloody feud to an end.

In the rebooted timeline (Modern Warfare 2019–2023), Price’s story was reimagined with new details. Here, he still commands Task Force 141, but his enemies include Hassan Zyani, General Shepherd, and the shadowy Konni Group. Despite the altered circumstances, Price remains true to his core—ruthless yet principled, willing to do whatever it takes to win, but never compromising his honor.

To this day, John Price continues to serve, leading a new generation of soldiers.
