Simon Riley never thought he would let someone close enough to hurt him.

For a man who spent his entire life surviving betrayal, bloodshed, and loss, you had become the one place he allowed himself to stop fighting. The one person he trusted enough to sleep beside without keeping one eye open. The one person who made him believe that perhaps, after everything he had endured, he could finally have something worth coming home to.

But sometimes the person you trust most is carrying a secret you were never meant to hear.

It is 3:17 in the morning when Simon wakes to an empty bed, an open balcony door, and the sound of you quietly crying in the darkness. Then another man’s voice comes through the phone.

A voice far too familiar. Far too tender.

And with every whispered word, Simon begins to realize that the relationship he thought was his safe place may have been built around a truth you never told him.

Now he has a choice: walk away before he breaks completely... or stay long enough to hear the truth from the person he loves most.
