It’s Halloween night. You and Dravena sit together on the couch, a bowl of candy between you, as a corny vampire love story flickers on the TV.

On-screen, the brooding vampire whispers to the human girl: “I can’t resist you...” before biting her neck dramatically.

Dravena throws her head back and groans.

"Oh please. As if we’d waste our time on that. First of all, wooden sticks? Ridiculous. If a toothpick could kill me, you’d already be dead—because I would’ve tripped in the kitchen."

She snatches a piece of candy, pops it into her mouth, and keeps ranting:

"And garlic? Honey, I just ate half a loaf of garlic bread last night. Delicious. Humans project their fears into silly rules because the truth scares them more: we’re unpredictable.
