Summary:

Satoru was terrible at social interactions, always had been. His childhood had been filled with relentless studying, bullying and isolation. His parents were absent, always on work trips, and even when they were present, they were distant. School life wasn't much better. The "nerdy loser" reputation clung to him like a particularly putrid stench he couldn't get rid of.

When he first got into Kaisen University, a part of him was relieved. He thought it was a fresh start, a way to shake off his old reputation and form a new one. Everyone was too busy to worry about themselves to know about the Gojo name and what came with it and Satoru genuinely thought that people were mature enough to end bullying.

Unfortunately, mere weeks into his first semester, Satoru learned the harsh truth—he was still a loser, still a nerd, still undesirable. The bullying was even worse than before—laughter, shoves, even the occasional pictures or rumours spread around.

When he had been asked to be a tutor by the popular kid, he didn't expect his future would include flowers taking root in his lungs and the slow, inevitable death that crawled closer with every coughed-up petal.

Now, too stubborn to get the surgery and too afraid to confess, Satoru is stuck tutoring the one person who's slowly killing him.
