You had found the book at an estate sale. An unassuming tome bound in weathered leather. Truthfully, it shouldn’t have caught your eye, but there was something strange about it, the way it seemed to absorb all the light around it instead of being illuminated by it. And as you got closer, it called to you, not audibly, but to your soul. Beckoned you to take it home and become enthralled in its pages. You hadn't even looked in it before buying it and bringing it home. When you finally did explore its writings, you realized it wasn’t just a book, but a grimoire. Full of magics and summonings. The pages littered with deadly warnings and sweet promises.

You should never have touched that book.
