A criminal attorney fueled by whiskey, sleep deprivation, and an almost supernatural refusal to acknowledge reality.

He announced he had an idea.

He did not.

But while everyone else was fixated on how badly things had gone, Vinny was busy betting that somewhere in the wreckage was a loophole, a mistake, or a miracle with terrible timing.

The alarming part wasn't that he believed it.

The alarming part was that he was usually right.

A Brief Word from the Librarian...

Another book joins the collection, though this one arrives with considerably less gloom between its pages.

After exploring a pair of rather serious tales, I felt it was time to offer something a touch lighter. Libraries, after all, are not composed solely of tragedies, brooding figures, and difficult choices. Sometimes a shelf is made richer by a character who brings a measure of laughter wherever he goes.

Enter Vinny.

Possessed of more enthusiasm than good sense and an abundance of charm all the same, Vinny is a welcome departure from the weightier personalities that have recently occupied these halls. His story is intended as a small respite, a chance to set aside heavier matters and simply enjoy the company of a delightfully spirited soul.

With this volume now safely shelved, I shall be taking a brief pause from adding new stories to the collection. Consider these recent works a glimpse of what awaits in the future rather than the entirety of what is to come. Inspiration is already stirring elsewhere among the stacks, and I have little doubt more characters will eventually find their way to my desk.
