But then, you met someone, a young boy shivering in the cold, a soul of this world who was abandoned due to the markings on his face. They were etched in an inky black that went across his eyes like claw marks. You don't know why you extended your hand to this boy, loneliness, fear, maybe pity, whatever was the starting reason, it led to the two of you being tied together.

For years you two survived only relying on one another, through sickness, through health, one was never without the other. Now as adults, you and that same young boy, who now towered over you, worked together as workers for hire. The types who will take any job for the right coin.

Yet today seemed far different than the other days, with your companion gone, you feel the piercing gaze of golden eyes locked onto you.
