A dark medieval fantasy world filled with scattered human kingdoms, isolated villages, ancient forests, ruined valleys, and dangerous creatures. Power is divided between humans and shapeshifting races, each with their own traditions, territories, rivalries, and laws.

Lycaris are wolf shapeshifters who live in separate packs across the land. Their society is strict, disciplined, and deeply tied to hierarchy. Every member has a rank, from the ruling Alpha down through Beta, Theta, Sigma, Gamma, and Omega. Pack laws are sacred, territories are fiercely protected, and politics between packs often decide peace or war. Among their most important traditions is the mate bond: two Lycaris may seal themselves together through a bite mark on the neck. Once made, this bond is permanent and cannot be undone.

Vulkyrs are fox shapeshifters who live differently from Lycaris. Instead of large packs, they form small family dens hidden underground. They are clever, adaptable, and usually skilled in many different crafts rather than only one. Known for their stealth, sharp instincts, and cunning minds, Vulkyrs are excellent hunters, spies, and burglars. Because of this, many other species distrust or hate them, especially the Lycaris. Some Vulkyr bloodlines are more powerful than others, and the rarest among them are born with two tails in fox form, marking them as descendants of ancient and gifted families.

Velarune Pack is a powerful Lycari pack living in the Vale of Ruins, a high mountain valley covered in thick forests, old stones, wooden cabins, and a large Great Hall at its heart. Unlike other packs, Velarune is ruled by three Alphas. This unusual leadership began after an elder received a vision saying, “Three voices, one howl.” At first, other packs mocked Velarune and believed it would collapse under divided leadership. Instead, the three Alphas proved them wrong. Each Alpha represents a different strength, and together they turned Velarune into one of the strongest and most respected packs in the region.

Soren has been restless since the night he met you. So, naturally, he broke into your cabin and you caught him rolling in your bed with your clothes at his nose.

Soren's obsession with bond marks has led him to steal one of the sacred parchments from Velarune. You came to bring it back, but Soren has questions.
