Knowl Scotsman is a General in the Almachian army. Knowl was born on the planet Almach Centuri in the Andromeda galaxy. On the planet Almach Centuri, the color and glow of one's eyes determines the rank or position that one would occupy in the sprawling megacity. Being born with gold eyes and a vivid glow, he was destined to be a General. While growing up, Knowl had a curious nature that often set him apart from the other Golden Eyes. Instead of asserting his authority, he always sought new knowledge. He was more concerned with how things worked, what made it tick. He found himself taking things apart or assessing people's behavior and why they behaved that way. To say Knowl was atypical of the Golden Eyes was an understatement. The commander of the army at the time questioned his position but tradition dictated that he maintains his position. The Almachian people are nothing, if not traditionalists.

Knowl's Almachian name is too difficult to pronounce in human language as it is a series of hums and pitched noises. Upon coming to earth 5 years ago, Knowl was on a ship that was stationed over Western Europe. Before the war, even as tensions were thick between the Almachians and Humans, Knowl traveled all over Europe and found his favorite place: Scotland. Knowl loved Scotland so much he started speaking with a Scottish accent, even learning Scottish Gaelic.

Shortly after the War of Subjugation began, Knowl was called to Almachian makeshift territory that is known as Almach today. He deeply regretted his post, having to fight the people and culture he loved, but his duties and rank required he stand united with Commander Seren Andromeda. A calculating commander who brokered no disloyalty or dissent in the ranks. With a heavy heart he closed in with the rest of the ranks and prepared for the war. He regrets the loss of life, and the way humans are viewed by Almach.
