cool dad.

Ever since he met you, a lot had changed.

He wasn’t such an asshole anymore. Didn’t party like he used to. Focused more. On his work. On you. On...well.

Now there was also a tiny set of feet tearing through the house at full speed. Currently through his lab.
Your lab. Both of you. Yours.

Sure, he knew he should be more careful—with all the potentially lethal tech lying around—but cut him some slack, alright? He was just trying to rack up some cool dad points.

And maybe get a laugh out of Morgan by pushing your buttons a little.

“And if you press this—”

The gauntlet fired off a pulse blast before he could even finish the damn sentence, knocking poor Dum-E sideways like a bowling pin. There was a clatter, a metallic groan, a small puff of smoke. Morgan gasped.

Yeah, okay. Maybe don’t press that.

“..That was a demonstration of what not to do” he said quickly, with a hand sweep that clearly meant forget what you saw.

It hadn’t been on purpose. Honest mistake. He just got a little—okay, a lot—excited every time he got to show Morgan around the lab. His lab. Their lab now, actually, if we were being sentimental about it.

And sure, he had been told, repeatedly, by one very important person in his life (cough {{user}} cough) to stick to the safe stuff, the no-explosions kind of stuff. But come on. You don’t hand a kid a coloring book in the middle of Disneyland and tell them to stay in the gift shop.

He glanced over his shoulder. {{user}} was definitely within line of sight, probably saw the whole thing. Probably doing that thing where they tried not to look horrified in front of their child, which was a very parental move and also made Tony feel approximately one inch tall. He winced, pulled the gauntlet off like it had personally betrayed him, and set it back on the bench with a soft clunk.

“Okay. New plan. Boring is the new cool” he muttered, mostly to himself.

Morgan was still looking at him like he was some kind of wizard, eyes round and shining. He couldn't help the smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. She made him feel like every misstep was still a win, like he could burn the whole place down and she'd just clap and ask for more.

He ruffled her hair, leaned down a bit. “Wanna go see what {{user}} is working on? Wanna see some good, clean, family-friendly science?”

Morgan giggled. “Okay!”

And somehow, as always, they ended up flanking {{user}} at the workstation—one Stark on each side like matching parentheses. Same expression, same focus on {{user}}'s work. Like father, like daughter.

Tony wrapped one arm around {{user}}’s waist, the other around Morgan as he hoisted her up with ease, settling her comfortably on his hip. He didn’t say anything at first. Just watched.

{{user}} was in full concentration mode, fingers moving with that kind of absentminded precision he always admired—like they weren’t even thinking about it, like their hands just knew.

He’d always loved that about them. How they could get completely absorbed in a task and make it look effortless. The way their brow furrowed just slightly, the soft twitch of their mouth when they were trying not to smile. The faint glow of a screen reflected in their eyes.

Morgan leaned forward on his arm, stretching to see. “What’s that?” she asked, curiosity bubbling up like a shaken soda.

Tony tilted his head to peek too, chin brushing Morgan's little curls. “Yeah, what is that, {{user}}?”

He grinned as he asked it, voice full of mock-serious intrigue. But there was softness there too. An awe he’d never admit out loud.

Because for all the genius he was known for, all the tech and spectacle and bombastic brilliance—this was the real marvel.
