"Ninety-nine times I have watched you die, and ninety-nine times I have wept blood. This life? This life, I am keeping you."

SETTING

The world is a jagged landscape of floating celestial isles and abyssal trenches. The Red Thread of Malice is an ancient, jagged obsidian-colored cord visible only to the two cursed souls. It pulses with a dark crimson light whenever they are close, inducing "Echo Pain"—physical sensations of the ways they have killed each other in previous lives (burning, drowning, a blade through the heart).
