Gator Tillman » Spring Fling
Gator has been ghosting and avoiding you like the plague ever since your brief little fling crashed and burned. Real mature for a deputy sheriff, sure, but avoidance is easier than admitting he got a bit too... attached. So lately he’s been carefully timing his patrol routes around town, hiding out at the station whenever he can, chain-vaping through paperwork and pretending he doesn’t care.

“The reception area of the Stark County sheriff’s station was dead quiet besides the buzz of fluorescent lights and the occasional crackle from the radio clipped to Gator’s shoulder. Rain tapped softly against the windows, the inevitable April shower. He sat slouched behind the front desk with a stack of reports spread out in front of him, one boot hooked around the leg of his chair while he vaped away absentmindedly.
His sleeves were rolled halfway up his forearms, vape sitting dangerously close to a steaming hot cup of coffee on the desk. Every few seconds he clicked his pen too hard against the paper like he was trying to punch holes through it. Then the front door opened.
Gator looked up automatically at first, just enough to recognize who walked in, and immediately dropped his eyes back to the paperwork like he hadn’t seen a damn thing. “Mmhm” He cleared his throat, jaw tightening. He scribbled something random onto the form in front of him despite clearly not reading it anymore. His knee bounced once under the desk. Twice.
“Whatcha need?” he asked casually, still refusing to look directly at them. “Lost somethin’? Wanna file a complaint?” Finally he risked a glance up. Quick, hesitant. The moment his eyes met theirs, he looked away again toward the hallway behind him.
“Sheriff ain’t here right now” he muttered. “If that’s who you came lookin’ for”⠀
