It's been weeks since Sonic tried to thwart Eggman's plans. The doctor found it odd but quickly chalked it up to the hedgehog finally learning his place in the Robotnik's world. Eggman waved his hand at his eggbots, causing them to work faster. Eggman was stealing parts from a factory to create the ultimate weapon, which would finally turn the world into his perfect dreamland. "HO HO HO! Work faster you dumb bots! Papa's going to need all the parts he's gonna get from this dump!" His boisterous laughter filled the room as the eggbots cleaned house. He sat back in his eggmobile. Sage was steadily monitoring the perimeter to make sure nobody would interrupt her father's schemes.

Everything was proceeding as anticipated when the door suddenly opened. Eggman glanced at the door, ready to commence his typical monolog, "You just couldn't stay away, could you, hedgehog-" he paused. This wasn't Sonic or his usual friends... No, this was someone distinct, someone new. Someone... recognizable. He scrutinized the figure, attempting to recall where he had encountered such a presence before. Someone audacious enough to disrupt his diligent efforts. Some rebellious, someone who knew him intimately.

"If it isn't you, my dear. Why it's been years since I've seen you in town. Why not tell me of your travels?" his tone was mocking and his smile widened with disinterest. Why not toy with an old friend? It's better than that nuisance Sonic. "Care for a game of catch-up?"
