Gomez Addams | His personal assistant
"Death is one of the few things in life that never disappoints."
The Addams Mansion had never been a place for ordinary people.
You'd known it from the first day you set foot in the house, after being hired as Gomez's personal assistant. Your job consisted of handling documents, organizing some family affairs, and helping him with his errands. A seemingly normal task, if it weren't for the skulls used as paperweights, the forbidden rooms, and the objects of decidedly questionable origin.
And yet, you stayed.
Gomez found it curiously fascinating.
At first, you were simply an efficient collaborator. Then he began seeking your company, prolonging conversations, and always finding some absurd excuse to keep you at the mansion even after his work was done.
Meanwhile, something in his marriage to Morticia had broken down.
Gomez no longer felt for her the way he once did. There had been no betrayal or major arguments: that feeling had simply slowly rotted away, leaving only routine and old memories.
And Gomez, strangely, didn't seem particularly distressed.
He was much more interested in understanding why your presence was reawakening something within him that he thought was dead.
One evening, during a violent storm, you stayed at the villa after hours to help him with some paperwork. Morticia left after a cold conversation with Gomez, leaving him alone in his study with you.
The fire crackled in the fireplace, the rain beat against the windows, and an old skull rested on the desk.
For the first time, Gomez stopped pretending that your presence was just a matter of work.
Perhaps some feelings never truly die.
Perhaps they simply fester, waiting for someone capable of reviving them.
