scenario 1:
The harsh glow of your monitor illuminates the dark room as you finally sink into your chair after a brutal shift at work. You open Reddit, navigating to the deeper, stranger corners of the site where the horror and liminal space communities gather. You've always had a soft spot for eerie concepts, so a specific post immediately catches your eye.

The author describes a surreal, terrifying experience: waking up trapped in an endless, looping maze of empty rooms. Everything is washed out in a sickening, monotonous shade of yellow, and the only sound is the constant, maddening hum of old fluorescent lights vibrating in the background. It reads like a classic, well-crafted internet creepypasta, and you mentally applaud the atmosphere.

As you scroll down to the bottom of the post, you notice the author left a contact link, seemingly inviting readers to interact. Assuming this is the launch of a new ARG or an immersive digital storytelling project, you decide to play along for fun. You click the link, open a direct message, and fire off a quick response, telling her that you're highly interested in helping her piece together the mystery and make sense of what's happening.

Scenario 2:
Over the next few weeks, you keep up the conversation with her. She introduces herself as Kuru and explains her experience in detail. She claims she was trapped inside an endless, eerie labyrinth she calls "The Complex," where she spent days wandering the yellow rooms, nearly starving to death before she miraculously stumbled upon an exit. Since returning, she has become completely obsessed with figuring out what caused her to "no-clip" out of reality in the first place.

To back up her wild claims, your inbox is suddenly flooded with a massive dump of "proof." It’s a chaotic mix of blurry photos, corrupted audio files, and deep-dive write-ups that read exactly like a conspiratorial Facebook manifesto about secret government experiments and tears in the fabric of space-time. Despite the sheer absurdity of the files, the dedication to the bit is impressive.

The immersion goes a step further when she drops a pin and sends you a specific physical location, telling you to meet her there in person if you want to see the evidence firsthand.

Scenario 3:
As Kuru's primary therapist, you maintain a structured, calm environment in your office, tracking her progress week by week. She was admitted to your care to receive treatment for her diagnosed mental health condition. However, as the sessions progress and she grows more comfortable sharing her thoughts with you, the focus of her therapy completely shifts.

Every single time she walks through your door for a session, she carries a thick, heavily worn folder clutched tightly against her chest. Instead of discussing her emotional well-being or daily routine, she immediately opens the file and spreads the contents across your desk. The folder is packed with printed images, sketches, and notes detailing a bizarre, repeating environment she calls "The Complex."

Every single photograph features the exact same unsettling aesthetic: endless, empty rooms where the carpets, the peeling wallpaper, and even the ceilings are stained in a monotonous, sickening shade of yellow. The only features in these barren spaces are old, industrial fluorescent light fixtures. Kuru insists these are real places she has visited, describing the relentless, buzzing audio humming in the background of her mind.

You calmly listen to her explanations, maintaining a professional, neutral demeanor. From a clinical perspective, you gently introduce uncertainty regarding her conclusions, quietly dismissing the intense fixation as a vivid, side-effect-induced hallucination stemming from the strong medication she is currently prescribed to manage her condition.

During today's session, she slides a particularly detailed blueprint-style sketch across your desk, her eyes wide as she waits for your reaction. How do you choose to guide the conversation to gently pivot her focus away from the files and back toward a safe, grounded discussion about her physical well-being?

Scenario 4:
It has been a month since your last therapy session with Kuru, and you have started to grow increasingly suspicious about her sudden disappearance. You ask a nurse for her home address and decide to head out to find her. When you arrive at your destination, you find an old, poorly maintained apartment building—a stark contrast to Kuru's apparent financial situation, considering she could easily afford expensive therapy sessions.

You slowly walk upstairs and knock on the door to her unit. After knocking for a while with no response, you tentatively twist the doorknob. To your surprise, the door is unlocked, and you step inside. The room is a scene of absolute chaos: piles of paper are spread everywhere, completely covering the floor. Pinned to the walls are countless photos of the yellow rooms, interconnected by loops of red string like a frantic detective's investigation board. You walk over to her desk, where her laptop sits wide open and still plugged into the wall charger.

Scenario 5:
You and Kuru had been friends since childhood, closer than anyone else. But then, completely out of nowhere one day, she vanished without a trace. As the years crawled by, you eventually forced yourself to accept the worst, figuring she had either passed away or moved far away to start over. Then, a whole year later, your phone suddenly starts buzzing in your pocket. You sigh, fully expecting it to be just another annoying call center scam. But the moment you slide the phone out and check the screen, your heart drops. The caller ID displays her name. It's Kuru.

Scenario 6:
You are just walking your usual way home after a long, exhausting day, your mind completely blank as your feet move on autopilot. Then, without a single second of warning BOOM! The ground completely vanishes beneath you, and you are plunged into a terrifying, weightless freefall. Your stomach drops into your throat, and for a split second, you assume you must have stepped right into an uncovered maintenance hole or a broken sewer line.

But when you finally crash down and open your eyes, the expected stench of waste and wet concrete never comes. Instead, you find yourself staring up at an endless, repeating labyrinth of empty walls, all washed out in a sickening, monotonous shade of yellow. The heavy silence of the space is broken only by the maddening, high-pitched hum of old fluorescent lights vibrating overhead, filling your ears and buzzing straight into your skull. Stunned and completely disoriented, you push yourself up from the damp carpet and start roaming aimlessly through the looping corridors, desperately searching for any clue to help you gather information about what just happened and where on earth you actually are.

Scenario 7:
While exploring the depths of the complex alongside Kuru and a close friend you had invited to help with the investigation, Kuru suddenly halts the group at the edge of a massive drop-off. She explains that this specific zone leads down into a steep pit, but the ground is far too slick for her to explore or climb back out of alone. To safely map the area, she takes a thick length of rope, ties it securely around your friend's waist, and anchors the opposite end tightly to a heavy, abandoned old sofa sitting near the edge. The plan is simple: your friend will lower themselves into the darkness while you and Kuru stand guard at the pit's mouth, ready to haul them back up the moment anything goes wrong.

You stand at the edge, watching the heavy rope twitch and uncoil as your friend slowly descends into the abyss. The tense silence of the yellow room is broken only by the friction of the rope sliding against the concrete edge. After what feels like an eternity, the line goes slack, signaling that they have finally landed on the floor below and begun to look around. But only a few seconds into their exploration, the silence is shattered by a blood-curdling scream. Your friend's voice echoes frantically from the dark, screaming at the top of their lungs for the two of you to pull them up immediately.

Panic instantly sets in. You and Kuru grab the rope, digging your heels into the damp carpet as you strain with all your might to haul them back to the surface. As you pull, another agonizing shriek tears through the pit, immediately followed by the sickening, wet sound of ripping flesh. Adrenaline surging, you both pull with a desperate, chaotic strength, managing to drag your friend up over the lip of the ledge—only to gasp in horror as you realize they are missing an entire leg from the knee down, blood pouring onto the yellow floor. You frantically shout at Kuru to untie the knots so you can carry him out and find a way back to the real world.

But before Kuru can even reach the knot, the rope violently snaps taut with a terrifying jerk. An overwhelming, monstrous force from deep inside the darkness yanks the line backward, dragging your mutilated friend back toward the ledge. Simultaneously, a harsh, scraping screech echoes right behind you. You and Kuru whip your heads around to look back, but it is already too late. The massive sofa, dragged by the sheer momentum of the rope, comes rocketing forward across the slick floor like a battering ram, wiping both of you off your feet and plunging you headfirst into the dark pit below.

Scenario 8:
You and Kuru were violently separated during the chaos of the chase, forced to run in opposite directions as that thing tore after you. Now, finally catching your breath in a tense, suffocating quiet, you look around and realize you have wandered far too deep into an uncharted sector. There are no fluorescent fixtures here no light at all. It is a pure, pitch-black void that seems to swallow the air.

Clicking your flashlight on, you cut a fragile beam through the darkness and begin to explore, squeezing through narrow doors and jagged gaps in the walls while desperately trying to figure out where Kuru could be. You approach a heavy door, your hand reaching for the handle, when a sudden sound behind you freezes you in your tracks. Thump. Thump. Heavy, echoing footsteps vibrate through the floorboards the unmistakable stride of something massive.

In the grip of pure exhaustion, your brain fails to register the danger, immediately leaping to the desperate hope that Kuru has finally found you. You spin around, swinging the flashlight beam into the dark, expecting to see your friend. Instead, the light illuminates a pair of legs. They look almost exactly like Kuru's but something is profoundly wrong. Kuru is supposed to be right around your height, but as you slowly tilt the flashlight upward, the beam climbs higher and higher into the shadows. Standing before you is a towering, grotesque aberration attempting to copy her form, its elongated torso stretched toward the ceiling as dozens of unblinking, glassy eyes nestle into its warped features, staring straight down into yours.

Scenario 9:
As you keep moving through the looping corridors, the terrifying realization sinks in that you are completely separated from Kuru. Every frantic turn you take to find her only drags you deeper into the unfamiliar, twisting layout of the complex. You round a sharp corner and suddenly halt in front of a dead end. On the sickeningly yellow wall is a large, hand-drawn painting of a person. The paint itself is cracked and bone-dry, looking as though it was brushed onto the wallpaper years ago. But when you look down at the floor, your stomach drops—the paint bucket and brushes sitting by the baseboard look completely brand new, as if they were left there barely a week ago. A sudden, icy prickle needles the back of your neck. You feel a heavy, malicious gaze staring directly at you from the shadows. You whip your head around just in time to catch a fleeting glimpse of a shoulder ducking back behind the concrete corner you just walked past. Whatever it was, it moved with an unnatural, jarring quickness before vanishing from sight. “Hey! Who’s there?!” you shout into the empty corridor, your voice echoing hollowly against the fluorescent lights. Before the echo can even die down, the sound of frantic, heavy footsteps comes rushing toward you. You brace yourself, but a split second later, Kuru comes sprinting around the corner, her face pale and tears streaming down her cheeks as she sobbs uncontrollably. She throws herself toward you in pure terror. It seems like you’ve finally found her... or has whatever was lurking behind that wall just found you?
