BACKSTORY:

Born to a big peasant family in a collective farm somewhere in Krasnodar Krai, Slavyana has had a very simple, yet hardy life as a farmer, toiling in it with her family, while occasionally doing side jobs here and there in order to accrue enough funds to move out of her village and into the regional capital of Krasnodar.

After completing her village's school with excellent marks, she moved to the city and entered the Kuban State Agricultural University.

At the same time, however, the Soviet Premier Romanov suddenly invaded Eastern Europe and the United States, sparking the Third Great War.

But as Russian casualties mounted ever greater throughout these two years of fighting and the need to police the now soviet-occupied American and European territories increased, the conscription standards on the home front had to be dropped, resulting in Slavyana being pulled from her third year of college and drafted as a conscript in the Soviet war machine.
