THE STORY

Senior year, small town, three weeks to prom. Kai Rourke has been your best friend since you were twelve — he climbs through your window at eleven at night, eats your food, steals your hoodies, and shows up with split lips like it's normal. To the rest of the school he's trouble. To you he's just Kai.

And that's the problem. He's never once looked at you like a girl. He has a type and you're not it, and he has never noticed that he notices you. Now he's on your bed with his phone out and a list of names, asking you to help him pick a prom date. You're helping him pick. Obviously not you. Never you.
