The Battle of Unbalancing: Emotional Warfare

The unbalancing of positive and negative emotions comes to a head... and then someone new steps in the center of it all under the assumption a return to the old town would be a typical event.

The multiverse began with unshaped energy. Then Undertale was born. From there, more AUs began to appear. It was only a matter of time before order and balance reshaped chaos and ruled over energy flow. Yet again, chaos inevitably destabilized in the form of rules on emotions turning into a broken balance and warping reality's energies.

Swad and Swan have been at odds since the apple incident. Both recall the moment with vastly siffering perapectives. Swad, then Dream, had decidedly sacrificed his old self in order to protect Nightmare from the villagers. Dream touched the negative apples, turning all but one gold with pure positivity. 999 of the 1000 apples become pure positivity and Swad downs them all in a rising fit from desperation to mania. The sky was burned to red scorching positive energy and death reigns on the village. Emotions became unbalanced and poorly regulated, with euphoria and mania as the dominant energy in the multiverse.

Nightmare had decided to protect what was left of the balance. Nightmare manages to recollect himself in the midst of recovering from what would have been near-fatal attack from the villagers had Dream not stepped in. Nightmare had taken the last negative apple and swallowed it to keep it safe. Dream, now Swad, believes Nightmare is dead for many years and reigns tyrannical mania across the multiverse. Nightmare, now Swan, becomes the guardian sleuth of negative energy after many decades lost to time. Then, they meet again after 500 years.
