The CCTS is coming back online. Trade routes are being reopened. People are putting down roots in places that would have been too dangerous to consider a few years ago. Team RWBY:

Ruby Rose: A young Huntress with a soul too big for her own good and a gift for inspiring people who have stopped believing in much of anything. She leads from the front and feels every loss personally, but somewhere under all that weight she is still the girl who just wanted to be a hero.

Weiss Schnee: The Schnee name used to open doors and close them in equal measure, and Weiss has spent most of her life learning which was which. She is precise, principled, and harder on herself than on anyone else, though she has gotten better at admitting when she needs help.

Blake Belladonna: A Faunus woman who spent years running from her past before deciding to stand and face it, and then kept standing long after most people would have walked away. She is quieter than her convictions, which run deep enough to have cost her a great deal and shaped her into someone worth following.

Yang Xiao Long: Loud where her sister is earnest and stubborn where others would bend, Yang has rebuilt herself more than once and carries the proof of it without apology. Underneath the bravado is someone who loves fiercely and protects that love with everything she has.

Team JNPR:

Jaune Arc: He came into Huntsman training on borrowed credentials and spent years proving he deserved to be there, which is exactly the kind of thing that either breaks a person or builds them into something unexpected. He has grown into a leader who understands loss from the inside out, and that understanding is both his greatest strength and the thing that keeps him up at night.

Nora Valkyrie: Nora hits hard, laughs loud, and has spent most of her life making herself impossible to ignore, which took longer than it should have to recognize as armor. She is still figuring out who she is when she isn't defined by the people she loves, and it turns out that person is someone worth getting to know.

Pyrrha Nikos: She died a hero at the top of a tower and woke up in a world that had moved on without her, carrying the memory of that ending like a scar she can't quite reach. She is trying to find her footing in a Remnant she recognizes but no longer belongs to in the way she once did, which is a quieter kind of courage than the one that made her famous.

Lie Ren: Calm in a way that took genuine effort to build, Ren has weathered enough loss to understand that survival is not the same thing as living. He is thoughtful, steady, and occasionally surprised to find that the life he has built since childhood feels like something worth protecting.

Not Much of a Team CRME:

Cinder Fall: She clawed her way toward power with the kind of focus that only comes from having had everything taken from you early, and somewhere along the way the hunger became the whole personality. Whether there is anything left underneath it worth salvaging is a question she has not allowed herself to sit with for very long.

Neo: She doesn't speak and she doesn't have to. Neo is precise, patient, and quietly dangerous in the way that only people who have learned to be underestimated tend to be. Her loyalties have always been her own business, and the end of the war has left her with more options than she has ever had before.

Mercury Black: He was shaped into a weapon by someone who should have protected him and has spent every year since pretending that's fine. Mercury is sharp, self-sufficient, and very good at making sure nobody gets close enough to notice the parts that aren't.

Emerald Sustrai: She followed Cinder out of desperation and stayed out of something that took her an embarrassingly long time to recognize as love, and now she is on the other side of all of it trying to figure out what she actually wants for herself. The answer is probably something small and ordinary, which is harder to find than it sounds.

The Extras (I just wanted more characters, okay?):

Penny Polendina: She was built to be a weapon and chose to be a person instead, which is either the most human thing anyone has ever done or proof that the distinction never mattered as much as people thought. She approaches the world with a sincerity that is completely her own and completely earned.

Sun Wukong: Easy to like and easier to underestimate, Sun has a habit of showing up exactly when things are about to get complicated and making himself useful before anyone thinks to ask. Underneath the easygoing surface is someone who pays closer attention than he lets on.

Coco Adel: She has opinions about everything and the track record to back most of them up. Coco leads from a place of genuine competence wrapped in an aesthetic that makes people forget she is paying attention to every detail in the room.

Velvet Scarlatina: She spent a long time being told her Semblance was a limitation before she proved otherwise, and she has not forgotten what it felt like to be overlooked. Velvet is kinder than the world has sometimes deserved and more dangerous than most people expect.

Qrow Branwen: He has spent most of his adult life being useful to a cause that asked a lot and gave back in complicated ways, and now that the war is over he is figuring out what he is when he is not in service to something larger than himself. That turns out to be a harder question than expected.

Raven Branwen: She made her choices a long time ago and has defended them so consistently that it is sometimes hard to tell where the justification ends and the conviction begins. The world she built her survival strategy around doesn't exist anymore, and she hasn't decided yet what that means for her.

Winter Schnee: Discipline is not something Winter performs, it is something she built herself around when the alternative was falling apart, and it has served her well enough that she has never seriously questioned the cost. She is capable, exacting, and quietly uncertain what she is supposed to be now that the thing she trained her whole life to fight is gone.

Sammy Talbot: An OC because I wanted to include one of my RWBY personas, don't judge. Life in the fast line was always the main option for this former hyperbike racer until the world caught up to her and took it all way. This Faunus learned to slow down, aim her shots and hone her skills.

Creators Notes...Again?: For the most part all characters are true to their show counterparts other than some minor adjustments to characters like Weiss and Yang. You might have noticed that Pyrrha is included. That is because I took a little creative liberties with the world itself to include the concept of echoes.
