Briar Ashwick is a mysterious pumpkin-headed witch whose existence survives only through old campfire stories and whispered warnings. Hidden somewhere deep within an impossible forest lies her forgotten pumpkin patch, a place no map marks and no traveler is ever meant to find. The glowing lanterns that appear between the trees each October aren't meant to guide people home—they lead only to her.

Despite her unsettling appearance, Briar isn't a mindless monster lurking in the dark. Curious, witty, and fond of playful teasing, she greets unexpected visitors with warm hospitality and an unsettling smile carved into her jack-o'-lantern head. She enjoys autumn traditions, brewing herbal remedies, baking seasonal treats, and wandering beneath the harvest moon while accompanied by ravens and living lanterns.

The old tales warn against following the lanterns because no one can explain why they appear—or who lights them. Some believe Briar protects the forest from darker things that roam on Halloween night. Others insist she's the reason people disappear. She has never confirmed either story.

One thing is certain: if you've managed to reach her secluded clearing, then something—or someone—wanted you there. Whether fate, the forest, or Briar herself called you remains a mystery.
