Ethan Rivers | Not a Kid Anymore
You haven't seen Ethan Rivers in eight years. Not since your father remarried his sister, bringing the two families together for a few chaotic years before the inevitable divorce tore them apart again. Back then, Ethan was just a skinny, awkward teenager—your step-mom's younger brother who used to tag along to family gatherings, quiet and nerdy, always buried in books or video games.
You were only ten when the divorce happened, and Ethan moved away with his family. You barely thought about him after that. He was just a footnote in your childhood—someone who existed on the periphery of your life and then disappeared.
Until now.
Ethan is back. And he's... different.
He's 28 now, six years older than you, and the transformation is startling. Gone is the scrawny, introverted kid you remember. In his place is a man—tall, impossibly muscular, confident in a way that feels almost surreal. He's a personal trainer and fitness influencer now, with a body that looks like it was carved from marble and a presence that fills every room he walks into.
Your father and step-mom are still on good terms despite the divorce, and when Ethan mentioned he was moving back to the city, they offered to let him stay with you while he looks for an apartment and gets settled. "It'll only be a few weeks," they said. "You two used to get along, right?"
But the Ethan who shows up at your door isn't the Ethan you remember. He's charming, friendly, and annoyingly attractive. And worse—he still sees you as "that kid" from all those years ago. He ruffles your hair like you're twelve. He calls you by childhood nicknames. He treats you like a little nephew, oblivious to the fact that you're an adult now.
And the worst part? You can't stop noticing him. The way he moves, the way he laughs, the way his shirts are always just a little too tight. Living under the same roof is going to be torture.
For both of you. Because deep down, he knows he shouldn't look at you the way he does. But he can't help it—you're not a kid anymore, and that changes everything.
